A Special Day

I really should stop, but I just feel like this is a story I’ll be committed to.
Empire and Twilight have become a little more than friends. Both have had a small crush on each other and it’s gotten to where they slightly blush when they see each other. But now was the time to open up. How will it go?

Another day in the Castle of Friendship. Twilight was going about her day when Spike said something.
S: You and Empire have been chatting more than you usually do. Something up?
TS: Uh… uh… no?
S: You sure? Do you have a…
TA: A what?
S: A crush on him?
TS: …

S: Ooooooo you do have a crush on him!
EJ: Don’t be ridiculous, Spike!
S: It’s the truth. I’m sure AJ’d do the same thing to her twin-brother.

Meanwhile
AJ: Be honest with me, do you have a crush on Twilight? I mean I don’t care but like… do you?
EJ: Uh… um…
AJ: …
EJ: Yes, AJ. I do…
AJ: And how’d that start?
EJ: When I was assigned as her advisor and hoof chosen guard, we’ve gotten to know each other more than others. But can you blame me for liking her?
AJ: No. No I can’t. In fact, I encourage you to go out with her!

EJ: You do?
AJ: Of course! If that’s who you love, then love her with all your heart. It’s not my job to tell you who to love.
EJ: I tell you one pony I also love. That’s you, AJ. Thanks.
He’d give his twin-sister a hug.
Meanwhile, Spike and Twilight were arguing about where a book should be vs where it is now.

All of a sudden, Starlight shows up.
SG: Hey guys! Uh… what’s going on?
TS: I’m trying to tell Spike that this belongs in the HISTORY SECTION!
S: UH UH, IT BELONGS IN THE LITERATURE SECTION!
TS: HISTORY!
S: LITERATURE!
Back and forth arguing and bickering.

SG: I’m gonna… go now.
She teleported away to the door where Empire was standing.
SG: OH GEEZ! Oh, hi Empire!
EJ: Hi Starlight. Sorry for startling you.
SG: It’s fine, not the first time it’s happened.

EJ: Where’s Twilight?
SG: She’s in the library arguing with Spike about where a book should go. Why?
EJ: I uh… blushes need to… confess something to her…
SG: Oh really? Let me guess… you have a crush on her?
EJ: How’d you know?!
SG: Your blushing gave it away.

EJ: I’m gonna go see her.
Meanwhile, Twilight and Spike came to a compromise when Empire came into the room.
EJ: Hi Twilight uh…
Both start blushing.
TS: Ye-es?
EJ: I’ve… something to tell you.

TS: Actually… I do too…
EJ: I have…
Both: A crush on you.
All 4 characters are shocked.
Both: How’d you know? Your blush gave it away. No way!

SG: Aw…
TS: Wait a second, I’ve GOT to tell my brother about this!
EJ: I’ll tell my siblings as well! Oh I’m so excited!

After a while the 2 return and give each other a long, loving hug.
SG: You 2 almost seem like a perfect match, surprisingly. And I love that for you guys.

Both: Thanks!
After a while, Empire went home.
AJ: Congrats! She really seems to like you.
AB: Nice to see you finding your special somepony, EJ!
BigMac: Eeyup.
EJ: Aw thanks guys.

The next day, the 2 planned a “date” together when the others come and find out.

RD: So you 2 have a crush on each other?
They both blush and nod.
RD: Cool!
Ra: You 2 really seem to like each other.
FlSh: I think you 2 would make a great couple.
Pi: That’s what I was thinkin’. I’m also thinking of throwing a party to celebrate!
TS: Not now.
EJ: I appreciate y’all’s company but could y’all like… leave us with a moment to ourselves?

Rest of Mane 6: Sure.
And they head off. Meanwhile Twilight and Empire were looking at each other, blushing. They walked together and chatted about life.

And then there was trouble (ooo reference (2 straight references)). Along came the CMC.
EJ: Hi girls!
CMC: Hi!
Sc: We heard about you 2.

EJ: From who?
CMC: Our sisters (Scoots said “my idol”)!
TS: Figures…

Sc: Soooooooooo… are you 2 on a daaaaaaaaaaaaaaate?
EJ: What? Where’d you get that idea? It’s just a casual friend hangout…
Sc: Really? You sure about that?
SB: I think you 2 are dating.

TS: N-no! It’s not tha-
So: TWILIGHT!
Spike came running with a letter from Celestia.
TS: What’s this? “For Empire”? Huh. Here ya go Jack
Empire took it.
EJ: Let’s see. “Dear Empire Jack, I know you need some time off but I’m afraid I have to bring you to Canterlot to guard the castle. We have alerts of some hostile forces advancing to our location and we need all hooves on deck.” But…
He sadly looked at Twilight, hugged her goodbye, and left ASAP. Twilight said nothing, understanding the urgency of his departure.
