Tumblr NSFW Upload thread

So I've downloaded an ask blog with TumblThree, is it alright if I upload here without linking to individual post URLs since a lot of them will be gone soon anyway.

Well, if you have something to add to that list you're welcome to.
On the other hand if you are asking whether unpopular blogs should be saved then answer is yes because
a)completness is preferable
b) even something is worth discarding the effort to determine what is worth discarding would likely take more time than just downloading everything

Okie. So where can I put the images at? They seem to already be on here.

Well, if they are already here then there is no need to upload them here. However if you downloaded entire blog then I think it's better to hold on files till something gets clear with the saving effort because I cannot be the only one here who is interested in blogs, not in images only.

I know. I just stated the fact that by random sampling I found 95% of the blogs I used to follow in the list. So if anyone downloads them all, then thats a good start.

Sadly I do not have the space to even download a reasonable amount. Just tried 10 blogs and they occupied around 3Gb of space.

I just thought about it. Maybe you should include something like "If you're an artist, please archive your content from tumblr, and contact us and let us know where you're moving to if you can" in the OP

I have about 1.5 TB free so extrapolating I can download about 5000 tumblrs and at least 2500
However I will not have enough time to download that much. That is why I think about 20 people is minimum to download everything there.

All these pony Tumblrs, I don't even know where to start….. And on top of that, have to deal with it that I just discovered that a lot of the pony Tumblrs I followed are just gone because the owners abandoned them….. Even "Ask the Crusaders" by Jan is gone and that is what I feared the most….. I feel emotionally exhausted right now.
All I can do right now is picking up the crumbs while weeping.

The SFW blogs should be all safe if the information Tumblr gives is to believe, so hopefully no automated nightmare happens, but to make sure, I will archive as much as I can until December 17th.
Archives will be made by me via WaybackMachine, TumblThree and uploads here. I'll probably spam links to everything I archived here.

So far this Here is my progress.
I might not be able to make much of a dent to the list considering that I only have 300 GB, but I might be able to open another 500 GB drive soon.

Oh yeah before people start going nuts with TumblThree, check the settings to make sure you really get everything.

ALSO, here's something VERY important if you archive a Tumblr blog on the WaybackMachine:


Do not just archive the individual pages of a Tumblr blog, that way you will not get everything. If you archive the pages, the WaybackMachine does not automatically save the pictures themselves, ONLY the thumbnails.
To preserve the pictures themselves in the WaybackMachine, as well, you need to:


1. Enlarge the picture by clicking on the thumbnail.

2. Doing a right-click on the enlarged picture.

3. Copying the picture URL.

4. Pasting the picture URL in the WaybackMachine under "Save Page Now" and clicking on "Save Page". Only then you'll have a picture archived.


This is a VERY important thing to do. Someone archived all pages of Jan's "Ask the Crusaders" askblog, but did not think on archiving the individual pictures, so as a result, you can't enlarge them in the WaybackMachine archive and only have tiny thumbnails.
So make sure to archive the pictures themselves, too, only then you have a fully-functionable, archived blog.

Is sad knowing some of this art is going to be deleted. Never to be seen again.

Please source the original tumblr; doesn't need to be the post, but the parent blog (ie. http://pony.tumblr.com/ ).

I would love to help but I don't think I might have enough spaces for at least two tumblrs I like. To be fair, I already have Ask Princess Molestia stuff on my computer right now.

I will save the art, only for the Clop Pics.

I know tumblr only from external links, so I won't be able to find my way in time.

Just to be clear.
It Tumbler goes out in flames, will it effect the art that's already here? All that stuff is on Derpy servers right?
