New tag proposal: Sploot

Anyone who owns, or is very familiar with, Corgis will know what splooting is: basically laying face-down with legs sticking out behind. See here

This tag would apply almost exclusively to non-humans and non-anthros, i.e. ponies (and griffons in some cases).

I was told to create a discussion thread for this tag after I had already started tagging, so there are plenty of other examples here

Well, a tag for that pose doesn’t seem wrong. My biggest question is: Why the name “sploot”? Where does that come from?

This thread caught me completely off guard, but a quick google search reveals you’re not wrong about it being a thing.
I do think we should be using a more specific definition for the pose, though. Stuff like crossed legs and other poses that aren’t 100% belly down probably shouldn’t apply here (in fact, I’d advocate “prone” being an implication). My understanding is that not only do the legs have to stick out behind, they also have to splay out on both sides.

Sticking out behind and splaying out on both sides? I’m not sure I’m understanding. Seems like that’d be a one-or-the-other type thing. Otherwise, I could agree with your statement.

Hmm… I could get behind #4 and #6 not being considered splooting, but #5 still seems sploot-y to me. I think you don’t often see that from Corgis simply because their legs aren’t long enough, lol.

The commonality between 1, 2, 3, and 5 then would be belly down, leg(s) behind.

So no opposition other than to more strictly define splooting as belly down, legs behind and not crossed. Though I do feel that the example of Twilight given with her legs crossed could still be considered splooting, so I suggest that the definition should dictate having to be belly-down.
