It is official lel. It hasnt been fully adopted by misty yet due to her making it in one of the final ch 2 episodes. Its a pretty excepted plot beat that itll be part of her leaving opaline

It’s a pretty interesting last name for her to think of randomly. Then again, I would assume that Opaline never bothered to give her a true last name once she adopted Misty.

Also most people dont use full names irl. At least with unicorns in g5 (as their 2nd name is a family name unlike the other species)

My theory was that Misty had an actual last name that she has forgotten, and then it would be a major story relevant reveal when it did show. But if the merch is using it, that seems pretty definitive.

Speaking of which, there hasn’t been any Misty merch at my local Wal-Mart or Dollar Tree stores as of late (though they have been rolling out more G5 merch for the Mane Five cast). I assume that will come around the time of the G5 MyM S2 show.

Since this is her last name copyright wise, i dont think theyll change it at any point so i dont think we will get a story beat about her parents. Also a common hc is that Opaline named misty, well Misty, bc of her crying. “Misty eyes”

if you are arguing about if misty has a last name, then yes it matters.
Arguing about something that wastes time and could be solved by you simply watching the piece of media you are arguing about is soooo annoying

Like say if you were surprised that pipp and zipp were sisters and started arguing and badgering people about it asking for where that was said in canon, when you couldve simply seen any piece of media with them instead

the film is essentially the pilots, again this is like arguing about the characters and lore in g4 but you only watched the pilots. Theres alooooot of important stuff on ch 1 and 2 sooooo

very early brony was yikes (since it originated from 4chan), mid fandom was ups and downs of toxcicity, late fandom was better, and post s9 fandom is fairly chill (since most left ynow)
