General topic for character tag categorization

I think at this point we should hold off on changing anything regarding the “bimbettes”’s tags until “Hard to Say Anything” airs in the USA.

I agree. After the rest of the fandom sees it, getting a consensus on the names will be easier. And once Derpibooru has decided on a name for each of them, I can make a poll for their names (placeholder names for the wiki) over at /r/listofponies!

Personally I’m not against using names other than the current ones for them so long as they’re not the car names.}  
The important thing is they not be named freaking Clio, Megane, and Twingo.
 
My main thought about it is that we should save our energy on the topic for when we know everyone will be able to converse about this topic, if we don’t wait the discussion will be heavily lopsided in favor of people who chose not to wait for the US airings of the episode.
 
Regardless, I just think it’s better to wait until then to re-bring up the topic.

I mean, literally the entire of Europe and South America can recognise Twingo, Clio and Megane, being some of the most popular cars sold on the continents, or do they all not count as people now? Just because you don’t recognise them doesn’t mean no one else does.

All three cars were built in Columbia as well as across Europe. Brazil has Meganes as police cars too.

These don’t really sound like girls names, at least Clio and Megane (And Twingo at a hard push) do  
I’ve also heard of none of them, except Asterix and Obelisk who were both dudes and had a theme park

So, what if they actually want to re-use the characters and give them names later ?

Regardless of anything else, Twingo does not sound like a girls’ name.
 
Also, I don’t see why we have to go with something French. Yeah, They’re based on characters that were French, but they weren’t really given French trappings otherwise.

You know what, what do people think of two part compromise names? Where it’s half the car names & half non-car names so that people can just call them by half of the name without needing to say the other half?
 
_{Honestly the main reason I have a problem with the car names is that one of the names is freakin’ Twingo which has the wrong amount of silliness, it either needs to be less silly or a lot more silly.  
Also Tomatoes are from South America & orange carrots are Dutch.}  
In this situation Clio & Megane feel like first halves while Twingo feels like a second half to me.

There are other names aside from Twingo that could have been chosen by whoever named them, like Laguna, Vel Satis, Modus, Wind, Kangoo, Fluence, Sandero, Captur, Kadjar, Spider, Trafic, Zoe, Alpine (Which pronounced French is like Ul-peen or something), Twizy, Scenic, Koleos, Pulse, Safrane, Latitude, Master, Duster, Espace, Kwid, Lodgy, Talisman, Alaskan, Dokker and Fuego, or at least that concludes my knowledge of Renault.
 
Could whack Gordini on the end as a last name, but the Megane never carried a Gordini variant.
 
I just like Twingo tbh, it completes the Trio of Renault hatches.
 
Two part compromises could work, but I feel the car would have to be the first name on all three, personally. Then give them a last name that is whatever their cutie mark is, in French?
 
On the topic of ponies only having a first name, and it being a “human” name, Trixie? Because it was never confirmed her name was Trixie Lulamoon, that was just a piece of merch, and her first name certainly isn’t TGAP

Gordini doesn’t flow well with Megane anyways, at least not for a pony name.
 
The problem with listing one name as their cutie marks in French is that we don’t have a good look at the pegasus’s cutie mark.
 
Megane Carotte, Megane Tomate, & Megane Les Légumes aren’t quite there, I think. Especially not that last one.

Laguna, Zoe, or Twizy aren’t actually that bad sounding to me as replacements for Twingo.

Clio Baguette doesn’t sound bad in my opinion.
