FIM season tags

I notice that a few people have been mass tagging FIM season and season spoiler tags. In the past, I remember the season spoiler tags being used as a catch-all for yet-to-air episodes with unknown episode numbers, which would then be replaced with the “spoiler:s0xexx” tag when we knew. Is there a reason why these tags should be mass applied to images related to FIM episodes? The spoiler tags seem redundant when the episode spoiler tags have long been merged into the main episode tags. Perhaps the season spoiler tags should similarly be merged into the main season tags*? I can’t think of a good reason for or against mass tagging non-spoiler season tags though.

Well, in the case of spoiler:s09 in particular, it’s implied by season 9, which is pretty silly. season 8 also implies its spoiler tag. Those look like the only two that do. Also, only season 4 (the one you noticed) has its spoiler aliased into it.

I wonder what the statute of limitations on spoilers is. Surely, at 3 years past its ending, FiM doesn’t need to count for spoilers anymore.

In the past, I think spoiler tags stopped being a concern sometime after the season ended, so maybe a few months. By precedent from the FIM days, there shouldn’t be any more FIM spoiler tags, and probably not for the G5 movie either.
