It’s the same issue as with shipping tags implying genders when people might draw the characters differently (futa, typically), but my sense is that it’s a greater percent of mistakes caused here (shapeshifters lend themselves to that kind of alteration, and ovipositors, too).

I’m going to disagree with OP’s stance on it. Just going off what’s been tagged, it’s at LEAST 75% female if I only use the search changeling queen,-safe (5602 out of 20833). This lends to the practice of using the female/male and lesbian/gay tags on things like shipping tags. What’s expected vs what is. It’s the exemption, not the rule, that changeling queen isn’t female in the image and should just be removed accordingly like other tags.

Posting in here to revisit reversing the decision.

I know it’s not 100% foolproof. But the amount of times it’ll also show up in non-porn results far outweighs the exemption, and should imply female.

But, I’m not quite sure what insights to glean from these searches.

Apart from the way tags are now, it’d be the best comparison to see how many times a sex tag had to be added or removed, too, which isn’t nearly as easy to look up - not to mention any images that presently remain mis-tagged.

Limiting the results to “solo” pics makes it easier to make some assumptions without worry about interference from other characters present:

Removing the implication led to a significant increase in sex-untagged posts, although 90% of those don’t show sex-identifying anatomy, so it’d just be the character’s default. Mis-tagged sex is lower by half, and posts that would have needed to have “female” removed after tagging are 6% of all “changeling queen” posts, or 14% of all “changeling queen” posts with sex anatomy (330).

So, the major factors that would shape one’s opinion on the matter seem to me to be: how much does one care about tagging sexes on images that don’t have any anatomy showing, and how much does one care about having the wrong sex tagged on a post? For me, they are “not much” and “a lot”, respectively (which should be obvious because I made this thread in the first place :P)
