The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

I’m sure they may have been one, but most were based on a specific character or idea. So lets open this up;

“Pet Backstory episode”

Of all the pets Opal and Angel are the two that cause the most pain or trouble to their owners. So my idea would be to have angel and opal get lost in the everfree forest together, half playing out like a silent cartoon ala tom and jerry or others like it. And the other half would be Rarity and Fluttershy looking for them, sharing their stories of how they adopted their pets.

Perhaps Opal was a troubled kitten flutters had before Rarity adopted her and Flutters never found out why, perhaps Angel WAS an orphaned Bunny as it was in that dreatos comic. That would be the chance to find out.

You could even make a little joke at the end where winonas adoption story is referenced in a 5 second montage that looks very action packed but AJ just mentions in passing.

“Spike + Changlings”

As hearts and Hooves day approaches, Spike has his mind on what he could do to attract Rarity’s eye. However, this distraction takes his mind of his duties as Twilights assistant just as Twilight is receiving advice to take on an official royal liaison. This leads to Spike messing up once or twice ans annoying Twilight, thus leaving him worried that he might lose his position.

Spike would be left wondering if perhaps his crush is making things worse for those around him and if it would be better if he could just let those feeling go.

This would lead to him being approached by a travelling mystic pony who would offer to take away those feelings that left him hurt for free as an “introductory offer” saying they hoped he would drum up business in ponyville.

As suggested by the title this would actually be a changling plan, as Spike has is crush removed but at a cost of his whole personality. Spike is sent back to ponyville advertising this “mystics” powers for love spells and therapy in a hypnotized state.

This would probably appear similar to the first IDW comic, though the difference being that this would not be revenge by Chrysalis, simply an example of who a regualr Changling invasion works on a small town.

Obviously the Mane 6 get wind of this as they notice the spirit of hearts and hooves day is not exactly taking the town by storm and it leads them to the source.

((This is the part I still have not thought out, perhaps it is another queen trying to outdo chrysalis or simply a queenless swarm acting own))

In typical MLP fashion it leads to Spike breaking the spell he is under to reclaim his personality (and his crush) in order to break the spell he has inadvertently cast on the other ponyville residents (being the first victim he would be the linchpin holding the spell together). And allowing mane 6 to intimidate the changlings into fleeing.

The episode would end with Spike being told he was always gonna get his place as twilight’s official assistant and Spike learning the old true to yourself lesson.

Okay those 2 took longer than expected to write out, the idea of both was to keep to the general tone of the show while giving certain elements some more screentime.

Applejack/jewel doing gravure videos would be an interesting theme for a image set or something. /off topic.

It’s been suggested before, but an episode starring both Celestia and Luna, or a new Trixie episode, maybe one where Luna makes her her student, bla bla, you’ve heard the reasonings everywhere.

“Pet Episode”

Main characters are all of the pets. All of the ponies and Spike sound like the teacher from Charlie Brown, save for a few words. Maybe bring in a few celebrity VAs. Story would involve them all trying to hide some sort of secret from their owners.

“SSCS6000 Gets a Magic Duel style Follow Up Episode.”

It’s Cider season in Ponyville once more, and everypony finally realizes the blindingly obvious: They didn’t actually solve the problem, and yet another shortage is at hand. The Apples have to make a deal with Flim and Flam to save the farm, and Twilight actually does something princess-e by showing of some diplomatic prowess. The moral is that sometimes in life, you have to work with people you don’t like. Suck it up and deal with it intelligently.

“A Shadow Over Ponyville.”
King Sombra had another magic contingency in place to cheat death, and returns to un-life a shattered, twisted spirit driven by malicious intelligence. He lacks the power to attack Celestia, so he decides to hurt her through Twilight. His spirit stalks the streets of Ponyville, possessing other ponies to torment Twilight Sparkle. The episode ends in a battle of wills in the center of Twilight’s mind, with Twilight overcoming Sombra in a battle of wit. During the final shot, Derpy is spotted in the backround, her wonky eyes staring straight ahead and full of hate….

“The Spike Episode.”
Spike gets fed up with Twilight’s shit and leaves. Twilight slowly falls apart with no one to keep her neurotic ass on track. Spike finds fulfillment in a number of activates he goes out to do on his own, but he still finds himself missing Twi a bit. They reconcile, and both pledge to make a healthier relationship. It’s all undone the very next episode.

“Les Crystrabels.”
Twilight lets slip during a formal dinner that her saving the Crystal Empire was just a test for her. Public opinion instantly shifts against Equestria, and several Crystal Ponies get names as they debate among themselves if they should continue to accept Cadance or try to become independent. Ultimately, things stay as they were, but a divide remains.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

“Old Friends”

(I already sent this one in the fanfic thread.) The idea is that Twilight returns to Canterlot for a visit, realizes the friendship opportunities she had missed and hastily organizes the party to show everyone how much she has changed and learned since she’s lived in Ponyville. She botches the party, alienating most of the Canterlot nobles, but is surprised to find that the ponies from her class (Lemon Hearts, Twinkleshine, Colgate etc.) don’t really care. They already know that she’s been like that and never held a grudge that she always ignored them. She learns a lesson about paying attention to others who may be silently supporting you without you even noticing, and that even if you have your new friends you should not forget about old ones.

“Dragon Quest II”

(Basically the karzahnii comic, only even closer to the standard ep format and moved to the s4 continuity from happening during Dragon Quest.)

In the intro we see Spike visiting Peewee and at the same taking care of Twilight’s laundry - basically hanging around at the phoenix grounds in the forest, talking to himself while TS’ laundry is soaking in the lake while Peewee flies around. After Spike briefly recalls their first meeting and muses if he will meet any dragons he will like, we skip over to the main plot.

Dragons have infested Ponyville! popping up by surprise in all kinds of places. AJ finds and chases away one prowling around on her farm. Rainbow startles one while looking for a spot for a nap, not noticing that the comfy rock is a dragon’s back. One scares Rarity half to death popping up in her gardrobe. (humorous dragon-in-clothing scene) A smaller dragon startles Twilightand after she finds it in a pot. The hugest dragon is in Pinkie’s room and Pinkie’s been hanging things on her horns and such without noticing the elephant in the room. The five eventually run into each other and realize that TS voices the opinion that the draons seem to be searching for something.
Twilight would send a letter to Celestia expect Spike is away, so she has to go herself to fetch her.

Meanwhile FS is surprised herself to find a dragon on her premises, but this one is different from the rest: an intelligent and outspoken baby dragon very much like Spike. “Whimsey” ran away from her dragon tribe because she wanted to live her own life. After the other 4 of her friends come looking for Fluttershy, the hinding Whimsey is discovered and the ponies realize that she is the reason for the dragon infestation. However, Whimsey wins over all of them and they become fast friends. (AJ is impressed by the young dragon’s honesty and sincerity; Rainbow is captivated by the young dragon’s weather-affecting breath and the things they can create together; Whimsey’s curiosity for fashion (evidenced by her bow) but never having had the chance to dry dresses among dragons means that of course Rarity has to lend a hoof, etc.)

Twilight arrives with Celestia. Now Ponyville is overflowing with smoke due to the dragons’ presence. The other 5 have to ‘fess up and admit that they know the solution. But everyone is hesitant about letting Whimsey be forced to be taken back to her tribe which she hates.

At this point the Queen Dragon makes an appearance. (identical with karzahnii’s Empress Dragon/Faust’s female dragon) She’s an exceptional dragoness of purple color who has both the size and also the intelligence and breath-magic of baby dragons. It is learned that Whimsey’s tribe is in fact residing in the Smokey Mountain (the one seen in “Dragonshy”), having moved there during the Great Migration. (It is explained that dragon tribes/families usually live huddled, and the Dragon Migration is both for avoiding overpopulation by moving to new places, and also for mating/mixing/egg-laying). Celestia and the Dragon Queen debate a bit about whether dragons are allowed to make a home on Equestrian ground, but dragon tradition predating pony tradition makes the Queen’s point irrefutable.
TS asks why they haven’t noticed the dragons right after the migration (considering the events of Dragonshy), and a final fact is revealed: Whimsey’s weather control ability can ensure that dragon smoke is dissipated before it affects the dragons’ enviroment. Unless Whimsey returns, Ponyville will be rendered unlivable by the smoke from the mountain (again, as seen in “Dragonshy”).

Believing that everyone will be against her after this new revelation, Whimsey makes plans to sneak away to avoid being forced into returning. But just as she is about to sneak out of Ponyville, she bumps into another figure…

SPIKE has returned from the forest, completely oblivious to everything that has happened at home. She is shocked and enamored, meeting another baby dragon like him for the first time. (Whimsey is less affected - having been used to other dragons her whole life - she is only mildly surprised about what another one is doing here.)

Celestia and Twilight explain to the Queen and Whimsey about Spike. After the ponies and Celestia declare Spike to be family, and Spike them as her family and friends, Whimsey begins to feel sorry that she planned to abandon the ponies who were friendly with her and leave her dragon sisters who cared enough to come looking for her (even if they always pushed her aside at home). She decides to accept her responsibility and return with her sisters. Since they are living near Ponyville now, the mane six invites her to hang out whenever she feels like with them - and especially Spike, who is thrilled about the prospect of learning more about dragon culture and hanging out with another of his kind.

As a final joke, TS introduces herself as Celestia’s student, Spike’s employer and a pony princess, and suggests that Whimsey can turn to her for any kind of advice - which somehow fails to make an impression on Whimsey, who finds Twi’s big words and the fact that Spike’s a stundent’s assistant amusing, and doesn’t seem to like Twi much. Twi is shocked and annoyed, not understanding what her problem is. The other watch with sweatdrops over their heads. It turns out that there is one pony Whimsey get along with - Twilight.
The ep ends with Spike writing the friendship report (and TS excluding herself, still upset that she got rejected). Whimsey becomes a semi recurring character like Zecora.

—
The purpose of all this is to open up new angles to explore dragons (and Spike). Whimsey is introduced as Spike’s opposite in many ways: a (baby) dragon that lives with other dragons (and is fed up with it), while Spike is a dragon who wants to rebuild his connections with his ancestry.0

Some explanations that karzahnii made about how dragons are are excellent:
  • Dragons grow when they start hoarding and getting greedy. At the same time, this behavior is natural for dragons. So to stay small for such a long time as in the case Spike and Whimsey is something of a choice that goes against dragon tradition. The smaller dragon will inevitably get bullied, but in exchange they retain more intelligence than their larger, more bestial sisters.
  • Whimsey is a character in the story, with her own wants, strenghts and likeable qualities. Definitely more than just an OC or a love interest or a repetition of the G3 character. In many ways, she is actually less naive than Spike. At the same time, she possesses girly qualities that allow her to interact with the mane 6 in ways tha Spike could not.

but I changed a few rule to ones that I found to be more suitable:
  • Dragon breath is a bit special and magical, similar to unicorn magic. They are dependent on not just the dragon’s ancestry but also on the individual. Examples of unique are Spike’s ability to send letters by flame and Whimsey’s weather breath.
  • Whimsey’s “sisters” did not exist in the karzahnii comic either. I wanted to add a family for Whimsey to drive home the point that she’s Spike’s opposite counterpart. They are a bit more “feral”

Also, though the story only goes only this far, it includes any hooks for one or more sequels:
  • Whimsey is clearly the same dragon “tribe/species” as her “sisters” (similar color scheme etc.). Meanwhile, Spike seems to share a scheme with the Queen Dragon. If there was a future episode Whimsey would admit that she has no idea what tribe Spike is. I also wanted to include a bit at the end of this episode where Celestia would share a meaningful glance with the Queen just as they are about to leave as if trying to make her say something about Spike - but then she’d fly away without saying anything. What does that mean? Is the Queen Dragon Spike’s mother? Are “royal” dragon a different sub-species and will Spike eventually become like the Queen? I have no idea, but there is definitely something special about Spike.
  • Despite the obvious shipping fuel, there is not meant to be any romantic Spike-Whimsey subtext during this episode. Spike has Rarity, and Whimsey is used to other dragons so just seeing a dragon boy isn’t sufficient to impress her (and she’s far more tomboyish/self-reliant to become like that that easily anyway). This angle would doubtless be explored more if there were more Whimsey episodes though. Should Spike really stick with Rarity (who she can only expect a fleeting romance with - even ignoring the age difference, they are biologically non compatible species, so kids are out of the question) or does he have a better chance of happiness if he tries to find romance with other dragons?

M7 return to the Crystal Empire to visit Shining and Cadence. Twilight’s parents show up. Cadence is acting weird, the girls (mostly Twilight and Rainbow) think she’s Chrysalis again. Its revealed at the end that Cadence is pregnant. They throw a party.
Soufriere

Sunset Shimmer Fan
Realistic - Cadance gets knocked up. Due to ponies having a gestation period of nearly a year, this is touched upon in multiple episodes. But there’s one episode in particular where it’s obvious Cadance has become too sick to do her job, so Shining Armor has to take over. After a fifth of the Crystal Empire inexplicably explodes, Twilight gets called in to fix the mess, but despite her organizational skills, she can’t deal with petty politics either. In the end, Cadance drags herself out of bed and fixes everything, then collapses as she goes into labour. Just as we think she’s going to die, we learn that she instead has given birth to Skyla.

Sort Of Unrealistic - Yeah, I know others have mentioned it; it’s a pretty common fanfic storyline. Eh… Luna decides she wants a student too. She picks Trixie. Hilarity ensues. Celestia is unhappy; Luna tells her the kid-friendly version of piss off. In the end, Trixie stays studying under Luna and is well on her way to becoming a legitimately powerful sorceress. Tune in next time for what happens when Twilight finds out…

The King’s New Clothes
Rarity and Twilight are sent back in time to the distant past of the Crystal Empire. There, Twilight is forced to hide herself and her wings, but Rarity is treated as a celebrity after she generously helps a fatally wounded stallion who happens to be of most importance for the empire. She heals him, nurses him back to health and sews for him a regal red and white cape. But their travel to the past and the growing rift between both friends will ripple far more than their friendship, and along with their struggles we will see the true origin story for one of Equestria biggest myths.

Why I think it would work?
-Twilight and Rarity deserve an episode where they interact and their personalities clash.
-King Sombra could reappear, WITHOUT reviving, and at the same time, show him as a good guy WITHOUT reusing the redemption thing, show his start of darkness and grow his character a little without heavily affecting the canon of the show.
-Twilight alicorn status and her inherent difference with regular earth ponies, pegasus and unicorns is something that a lot of people want to see, and the past where ponies might be more prejudiced and isolated would be the perfect opportunity to do it.

Oh, also, another one I made up during s1.

Granny Pie Comes To Ponyville

summary:
PP receives a letter that GP comes to visit her, however her friends are shocked to find that she plans to leave Ponyville forever to join her on her travels.

plot:
Well everyone has their image of Granny Pie right? In my interpretation, she’s a very small, very stout old pony wearing a large straw hat and and impossibly huge backpack with all kinds of stuff (pans and pots, strange souvenirs etc.) hanging from it - a bit of a parody of Irish/gypsy nomadic professions.
She is also an incredibly stern mare, quickly putting down anyone with a sharp tongue she disapproves of - and she disapproves of pretty much all younger people (including the middle aged), save for Pinkie, her favorite. Rainbow Dash is quickly returned to her errand-girl for her perceived “delinquent”-like behavior. But not just the mane six, everyone in Ponyville suffers from her wrath. Pony Joe has to take a day off from stress after she visits his shop and accuses him of stealing the sugar from his donuts. Even Granny Smith can not suffer her from long. The mane six quickly agree that she HAS to leave, except Pinkie seems to ADORE her and is completely oblivious to all the problems she causes for the others. Granny likewise treasures Pinkie, and is planning to take her with her.

The mane six decide that since Pinkie can’t be counted on in this, they have to make Granny leave and convince her to leave Pinkie on their own. All kinds of tricks and pretend games ensue, but none of them can penetrate Granny’s sharpness and all of them backfire on the mane five.
In the end, they decide that it wasn’t right for them to get in the way of Pinkie’s happiness and apologize to them both, explaining that they were just so desperate over the prospect of Pinkie leaving that it made them act selfish.

However, that opens Granny’s eyes who just assumed that Pinkie was fundamentally alone and her friends were no good. Seeing how many good friends she has found, she tells her that she should stay. They hug and a lesson is learned.
