Who knows how many fights they had in the past, their relationship never looked too friendly to be honest, Gilda hated doing the little dance with Dash and in a couple of seconds we got both arguing about who flies faster.

So? We’ve had more onscreen arguments from Applejack and Rainbow Dash in Fall Weather Friends. That escalated to full-on mutual violence.

There’s a big difference between a fight in a life of laughs and a laugh on a life of fights, Dash has no reason to break up with AJ because their good moments totally overshadow the fights.

I could easily see this coming from a Discord episode:
 
Another one-shot villain is giving one of the mane 6 problems (let’s say Fluttershy, for simplicity’s sake), and Discord decides to do her a favor by solving her problems; however, he does so the wrong way and Fluttershy gives Discord heat for it. Although he’ll be confused at first, he winds up righting his own wrong; nonetheless, he still manages to get the last laugh at the end, which he shares with Fluttershy.
 
…and I suppose I should head off all the “One Bad Apple taught that life lesson already” comments:
 
It’s no secret that “One Bad Apple” was a phoned-in psa. Sure, it introduced a new character, allowed the CMC to branch out, and had a catchy song, but I’d still like to see an episode where they let a filly or colt take a stand that shows independence and growth instead of shoving a “let the authorities take care of you” message down people’s throats.

How about “Don’t cross the streams”? No kid shows teach that anymore, it’s an important safety tip.
