Villain ideas

You know the drill.  
Here’s one: a heterogenous horde of violent, belligerent and snarling monsters.
 
The ponies beat them by causing them to fight amongst themselves because they hate each other

A classic: the villains you defeat by sowing discord among them. Eg: “I only fight the strongest. Which one of you is it?”
 
It is difficult to do it while staying true to the spirit of the show, but I think you could do it with Dash. For example, two guardians on a path she/they have to get through to reach their destination (so this whole thing is a short scene). Afterwards, she explains that she understands it about competitiveness and how you should not let it get to your head.

Someone who the writers don’t pull any punches with. Like a G1 villain.

How is objectivism entitlement? The tenant is that you have to earn your way.

A kind of mysterious golem that acts as a protector and a suppressor to all ruckus, chaos, and unbridled magic.
 
It does not speak, negotiate, rest or think.
 
It simply keeps order.

A brain parasite from the stars that hijacks Celestia into pony Caligula. Sentient and cunning and psychotic. Defeated by a healing wave from Twilight.

That’s what I said. They don’t think they owe anyone anything, but that everyone else (especially poor people) owes them.

They’re individualists.

Crystal Rebels who feel the empire has traded one foreign overlord for another, and want Equestria out of the Crystal Empire and an actual Crystal pony on the throne. Some of them might even declare Sombra to have been an inside job. Lots of story opportunities. Twilight’s princess-ness would be directly relevant to the story at hand, we could gain insight into the character’s of Celestia and Cadence, and learn more about the details of the Crystal Empire and its ponies.
