You think those are dangerous? Just wait until you get to Fallout Equestria creatures. Radwasps can corrode you with one molecule of their venom and even amputation can’t save you from death. And, not a creature, but Starmetal. One molecule (or atom if it’s an element) touches you, you’re fucked unless you’re a megaspell like Hired Gun. Seriously, one atom could probably wipe out the whole pony species. One atom could be like filling Lake Corangamite with botox here on Earth.

I doubt that any ship is “true love” without rose-coated glasses. Still, I remember that ship and Mud having a ton of hate when it came out, especially from Maud/Trixie shippers.

I could be more lenient with Mudbriar except that he had to see he was irritating everyone yet didn’t try to change his behavior.
 
That was the crux of my problem with The Maud Couple. A relationship is a two-way street. You can’t act however you want to and expect to get along with people. Pinkie wasn’t at fault for disliking Mudbriar when he made zero effort to be likable.

And speaking as someone with bad social skills, that’s normal. I mean, he doesn’t mean any harm when correcting people, it’s just something that he does. He’s still more likeable than some other characters that the fandom goes gaga over, like Queen Swiss Cheese.

Biggest problem with Maud was that she was kinda one note. I thought her first episode was really good, but I was already getting sick of her by her second focus episode when everything about her got really predictable the more they used her

I could see how others would become annoyed at that.

Mudbriar for me was kinda redeemed by his portrayal in Student Counsel, where he showed more shreds of self-awareness. Probably helped that he got stoned.

Always correcting people is a bad habit he needed to be broken of. It’s not so much bad social skills as it is lack of self-awareness and apathy to others’ feelings.
