Yes it does. He was hatched when AJ got her CM. AB was born before then.

The CMC are probably about 15, since the thing where all the apples ripen at once happens every 100 moons (=7.5 years) and there’s no way the flashbacks were only one cycle ago given AJ’s age. Spike goes through puberty in S8, puberty occurs around the age of 15 in humans. Therefore, it is reasonable to say Spike and the CMC are roughly the same age.

Yes it is. Going to Seed shows that AB was alive when AJ got her CM, which was, as shown in CM Chronicles, when Spike was born. WTAL gives no indication who’s older because AJ already has her CM.

Or we can just use the “Going to Seed” math to prove Apple Bloom is 15-ish. The thing happens every seven-ish years, 7 years isn’t enough tine between AJ not having her cutie mark and being an adult, therefore it was at least two cycles which makes sense. Apple Bloom is around 15.

So what? She was born before AJ got her CM, so it’s objectively true that she was already alive when AJ left for Manehattan and returned. Going to Seed’s flashback happened before CM Chronicles’ did.

We didn’t see her parents either, and the whole thing makes a lot more sense if they were already dead.

I very much doubt Apple Bloom is 15, I considered her more a pre-teen then a actually teen. Spike might be the same age as the CMC but we can’t ignore that he is a dragon and dragons are different then ponies.

The CMC act like young adults, and are treated as such. Remember that one time Scootaloo was given a say in who took care of her? Yeah, that’s not a thing kids normally get, you’ve gotta be fairly old (for a kid) for that to start happening. They’re middle schoolers at the very least, freshmen in high school isn’t unreasonable by any measure.

This is my head cannon anyway. I always imagined Scootaloo was the older of the bunch.

I go with AB as eldest, since her age is most tied to Spike/the Rainboom and she always seems the most concerned about being late with her mark (among other reasons).

2 years is nowhere near enough time that’s passed. At least three winters went by, and I’m of the belief the show spans at least five years.

And there are episodes where the CMC are treated as pre-teens, episodes like “Somepony to Watch Over Me”, “The Cart Before the Ponies”, and most recently “Growing Up is Hard to Do”.

Yes, it’s very confusing when the writers keep changing constantly about the characters’ ages.

A lot of the time it’s pretty interpretable - even the Mane 6 have aspects of various ages, after all. But having GUIHTD come after Forever Filly is just nonsense on the show-runners parts.

I always thought they started around age 8, ending at 12. They were probably 10 or 11 when they got their cutie marks.

Exactly, and it doesn’t make any sense that the episode aired after The Last Crusade, which is supposed to be the last CMC episode.

Yeah, if anything, GUIHTD should have been swapped with The Last Crusade.

There is a possible chance that “A Hearths Warming Tail” and “The Hearths Warming Club” Could’ve took place in the same winter.
