it was a very pointless retcon though. trixie could have been legitimately good-intentioned, but just a bad influence, and the episode wouldn’t have changed a bit. in fact it would have made for a really good lesson, that is “don’t be taken in by the bad traits of others”, instead of feeling like a contrived way to give starlight the moral high ground and generating false conflict, and it had the side effect of entirely negating trixie’s entire (albeit somewhat cheap) apology. hell, the story could have been about starlight
and trixie both learning to lighten up and not be bad influences on each other.

i couldn’t care less what “fandumb” thinks about any one character or episode. i judge things based on my own perceptions, right or wrong, and don’t rely on stereotyping or making assumptions of the viewers to make a statement.
