Derpy and Dashie had the same idea: rescue the Princess. And they were both vital. Dashie got Twilight out of  
immediate danger, and Derpy’s petrification bought the Mane Seven the time they needed to get away and seek help. Derpy warranted (and almost certainly received) the EPHoC!  
 
But poor Thete! Also (though not shown) poor Minty, Chirpy, Crackle Pop, and Dinky!
