Just watched Sunset’s Backstage Pass and it makes me wonder, what if Starlight also used the Time Twirler spell in the season 5 finale…
 
I had a feeling that the Time Twirler had a sort of connection to Star Swirl’s Time Scroll. Both  
spells are deactivated by the end of their respective episode.
 
The Time Twirler is destroyed and its spell are permanently wiped out (Sunset crushes it right in its “eye”, killing the core source of the spell)
 
The Time Scroll from S5 finale also vanished in thin air after Starlight is defeated, this restoring the original timeline and seals the time travel portal

A single episode, a two-part finale and a movie/miniseries all revolve around time travel. They really do love going back to that well.

A recurring theme in Equestria Girls: Equestrian magic used by someone for something bad and it’s up to the heroes to stop them

The lesson of coming into power and abusing it to short cut to your goal instead of working, learning and growing to achieve a version of it is good but I just couldn’t buy it with Vignette, Juniper and, to a lesser extent, Sci-Twi and Wallflower (Still love the character). Those characters could probably have worked without the introduction of magic into the plot.

Also, notice that those enchanted objects are mostly destroyed, from the Dazzlings’ stone to the Time Twirler, as a symbol of stopping the negative spell. The only two magical object that’s not destroyed is the crown from the first movie, and the geodes from Legend of Everfree

Interestingly, the magic container from Friendship Games was destroyed but Sci-Twi had to choose to relinquish the power she obtained. Juniper was the only other one that had to make that choice. Fitting since Starlight was in the same position she put Twilight in.

Forgotten Friendship is a good special and Wallflower Blush is a good character. It would make a good finale for Equestria Girls, even though we got Holidays Unwrapped last year.

no, focuse exclusively on sunset, all the best EQG content centered on her. roller-coaster of friend ship was shit that wasn’t focused on sunset and was dumb. mirror magic was literally the worst thing ever put out by fim and wasn’t about sunset and was about some dumb purple bish. forgotten friendship? best thing eqg. rainbow rocks? the other best thing put out EQG, both focused on sunset shimmer the most.

EqG had the potential to stand as it’s own series. Preferably taking FiM’s time slot during the off season.
 
We deserved a graduation or time skip finale for EqG.

In the future, Sunset Shimmer is principal of CHS and Twilight Sparkle is the Vice Principal.
