The only thing that qould have made that Can I Do It On My Own song from Flutter Brutter better, would have been if there were flashbacks to younger Fluttershy and Rainbow’s failures and doubts. And then song would end showing their moments of triumph in the show and then cut to Zephyr succeeding with that manecut.

Almost like passing Fluttershy and Rainbow are passing the torch to the younger one.

Is Spike even a child? Spike hangs with grown ups more than colts. Even in that he even spends time Big Mac a lot. I don’t mind it but it makes me confused.

I always assumed he wasn’t that much younger than the others. He hatched when Twilight was still pretty young. I always hoped for him to be a “mature for his age” type of character, but he kinda stalled. He’s an impulsive little guy.

It is quite an oddity, I’ll admit. Probably just cause of the way the show is set up, really… still, I wish they had done more with him and other kids.

Most of the kids besides the cmc stopped being apart of the story

And I forgot to add this point but that song to me shows how far Rainbow and Fluttershy came as characters.

I doubt Season 1 Rainbow would have had enough tact or patience to help Zephyr (also she amost failed and quit at her Wonderbolt exam, so she probably knew what it was like to feel hopeless on those occasions). And I doubt Season 1 Fluttershy would have had enough experience with overcoming her own fears to know that Zephyr could succeed in life despite his flaws.

Since I’m almost finished with FIM season 6, when should I watch the MLP 2017 movie? Is it necessary to watch to understand the rest of FIM?

It doesn’t add much to be honest, but they’ll make some references that you won’t need the whole movie to get, and add a new race introduced in it.

At first I liked it but overtime I found it to be more mediocre or anything, but just watch it for yourself so you can form your own opinions

Movie was alright, as a fan I liked it but on it’s own it’s incredibly safe, somewhat mundane. Basically it’s a glorified premiere.

I’d go through S7 first since the S8 in particular directly references the movie
