Stop the Blueblood Hate

Why is he hated? Is it because hes not a gentlecolt? Well scar slapped his sister in law unprovoked and he has millions of fangirls. Is it because he hated AJs food? Not everybody is gonna like it, and for the people whp think mac wants to kick BBs plot for that comment, Hes not, he is not gonna force him to like it. Is it because he puts himself higher than the commeners? Frollo does that too, and he has alot if fans. Is it because of his Ego? Well CM Punk has an ego and everybody likes him except for little kids. Also one last mote if your gonna hate Blue for not being a gentleman then why not go and beat up guys in real life who are in a genderless relation ship(AKA dating a feminist) ?

I think it’s because there’s no style to his shitheadery. No style, and precious little substance.

Because all there was to him during the s1 finale was him being a massive shithead.

Point is, Chrysalis was more fleshed out than Blueblood was and at least had some semblance of a reason for invading Canterlot, even if that reason was pretty bad in itself.
 
Blueblood, on the other hand, seemed to have no redeeming values throughout that episode. For chistsakes, everything he did during that episode seemed to be designed to show how much of a dick he is- leading to all that Blueblood hate.

Well, he’s a member of the mythical benevolent absolutist ruling class, yet looks down upon anyone and anything he perceives to be below his social standing.
 
I don’t think Blueblood acts that way towards just women. I think he’s lived a life of royalty and being told that he’s better than everyone else, and expects everyone else to cater to him since he sees himself as Celestia’s gift to-well, everyone.

Because a person who is “born evil” is so incredibly rare that it’s hard believing that they came out conceited/evil/with bad manners.
 
Blueblood undoubtedly was told his entire life by his elders to look down on people he perceived to be beneath him in general. Yep, he’s sure from Canterlot.

I don’t recall saying he did. He did have something approaching a personality though, which is enough for the average fangirl. Blueblood doesn’t even have that.

It’s not about redemption. It’s that most people who do extreme things aren’t born that way. Some could have some sort of mental disorder, sure, but upbringing affects who a person is a lot as well. Someone who already has narcissistic personality disorder could be raised his entire life around people who would tell him he’s great constantly regardless.

Perhaps Blueblood was such a asshole to Rarity on purpose. Maybe, little did Rarity know, hes already engaged with another mare. He may be a narcissist, but there is a practical reason why he maintains appearance being a Royalty. I hate to admit it, Rarity was the one being a little selfish and hasty in that episode. Not that rarity is a bad mare, but she deserves better. As for Blueblood’s distaste towards “carnival fare”, like Monkey said, simply hated it. Though he could’ve at least pretended to like it.

Why do people see things that actually happen to people that actually screw them up in the head as “gay ass backstory?” If people want realism in stories, it’s going to go against the desire for uniqueness, there’s only so many bad things that can happen and the human mind is wired to respond in only a few ways.

Because people can be evil for reasons other than having a terrible childhood, many villains want money,fame, and power. Other villains might just want some respect that they dont get, Others arent really evil but just have different views of life. Theres alot of reasons to be a villain other than being abused as a child which most writers seem to use

Yeah, but wanting money/fame/power all really come from a desire for attention and control. As in, they’ve been controlled their whole life and see the world cynically and want to control it to make up for their own loss. Not really being evil? Well, that depends. Chrysalis needed to feed an entire race that would die otherwise. Discord could have conquered Equestria all by himself, but he just wanted to jerk around an old rival’s students. The former could technically be considered evil if you’re on the receiving end, but Discord? It probably was best for everyone that he seemed more interested in pissing off the pony who sealed him away than actually doing things.

Scar was a very cunning and charming character with plenty of development and depth. Blueblood, not so much… He was just a typical Canterlot snob and any one of those snooty gala attending stallions could have played his part the way he did it. And that is where the problem lies. There was nothing truly defining about him, as opposed to a well-rounded character. He was no more than an archetype for a rich douchebag. Until now the only reason for him to even be a prince is to lay it on extra thick how looks and status can be deceiving. After all, modern kids have been spoonfed with the idea that handsome princes are always great guys. What a twist!  
There may be more to him, but we never see it. In fact, we never see or hear from him again. As it stands, we have this uncharismatic shell of a character, that is utterly useless until further notice.

Hitler is theorized to have had Syphilis actually, though his relationship with his father wasn’t great. Stalin however was abused by his dad.
