YOU BETRAYED THE (Non-Existant)LAW!

So, is it confirmed now that Equestria has absolutely nothing in terms of law enforcement? I mean, before, it made sense that the Elements were the only feasible response, seeing how the antagonists were extremely powerful magic users, but Ahuizotl and Belloq-pony are apparently beatable by a single Pegasus, and Ahuizotl needs artifacts to do magic. So, these guys (and who knows what else is in Do’s rogues gallery) have been operating, documented well enough to be in the books, for who knows how long (in the first Daring Do episode, Twilight mentioned reading them as a filly, right?) without even a token show of resistance by any official body? Does Celestia herself know the books are real? Is anypony besides Daring even trying to stop these guys?

I think it was just a contrivance. Maybe Daring Do suffers from Munchhausen Syndrome (like Dash but to a pathological extent). To me that seems more likely than saying there is no law enforcement.

How do you know Daring Do isn’t a government agent herself?

Stopping Ahuizotl and whomever else happens to be in her rogues gallery could be her nine to five.
 
Infact, her books could very well be just a set of cleverly hidden mission reports to Celestia.

And that Celestia has a bunch of “Equestria protectors” working in different regions, all sending reports to her in different ways.

I prefer to think that Equestria is in itself a small region, and the few cities and towns are the only places with any sort of “law”. Everything in between those is badlands ranging to “just plain nothing there” to areas like the Everfree Forest (which gets its bad rep on the show for being the badlands area next to Ponyville.

To me the whole episode doesn’t make any sense.. The fact that Princess Celestia doesn’t care that this Daring Do character has saved world countless times, alone? How old is she anyways if the books already existed before Twilight..
 
It seems any law enforcement in general, especially royal guards are just random ponies in paper craft armor who don’t actually know what to do if something bad happens..
 
Why did they ever even need elements of harmony, just call India- ehmm I mean Daring Do to save the day?
 
Maybe I am too rough on this episode, but I can’t get over the fact Daring Do is real now… Even though if what I suspect will happen, in following episodes no one even remembers her expect her books, and she will not be shown anymore.

Yeah, from a worldbuilding perspective, this episode was a mess. Lauren wouldn’t have allowed something like this.

Ahuizotl only threatened the region of the fortress (“Cavaleron you fool! you’re dooming the valley to 800 years of unrelenting heat”) and most of equestria wouldn’t have been affected if he succeeded. The reason that the princesses didn’t get involved is because it was some backwater jungle without any significant civilization, hack this place could have been outside of equestria proper as far as we know.

Uhh? Celestia Controls the sun. Can they even cause something like that? Another pretty silly mistake..  
I don’t know. I’ll hope we get to see something related to the mystery box next episode, So I can just forget about this.

Next episode, I think, is a CMC episode. They have all the plot importance of a Naruto filler.

It’s most likely a weather effect. Weather and temperature ranges are determined by more than just the amount of sunlight an area is getting. The main factor in climates is the atmosphere, so a very subtle change such as adding humidity and changing wind pattern can heat up a geographical area.
 
And We are not even taking into account the fact that In the world of equestria ponies manage the weather to the point where they are responsible to changing seasons. The Concept of an artifact that forces an area’s weather to stick as a extra hot tropical summer makes perfect sense in the Logic of the show.

And even though I criticized this episode a lot I still had a smile during almost the whole episode as I was watching the stream..

To be honest I myself didn’t really like the episode.  
A big part of it is because I really didn’t expect Daring Do to turn out to be a real character, so when this was relived my entire suspension of disbelief collapsed. (Maybe i will like this episode more after a second watching, won’t be the first time.)

I’m assuming the whole Daring Do thing takes place outside of Equestria. If you pay close attention to the part where Pinkie Pie paints the line, they goes past the mountains, North of the normal map of Equestria (assuming the map is facing North upwards). The Daring Do universe takes place outside of Equestria, and in a land where things are clearly less civilized.
 
As for the episode itself, it was one of the best ones yet, Daring Don’t takes #2 on my favorites.

Keep in mind that, from what we’ve seen, Equestria has quite a few less civilized places, such as Ghastly Gorge, the Everfree Forest, or the deserts of Appleoosa and Dodge Junction. A unified law enforcement system probably doesn’t exist yet.
