Yes, it is of course a certain form of parody. BUT! I like it a lot, just like I like Spike a lot. Personally, I think it’s absolutely fine to poke a little fun at yourself. As long as it brings joy and doesn’t become absolutely mindless.
In my mind, Spike is much bigger than the show ever showed him anyway. And boi, will I freak out if Spike is still alive in G5. ;-)
