Season 9 Discussion Thread [Warning: SPOILERS!!!!!]

I like this one better because it put more focus on the Mane 6 and it seemed more natural with its jokes and characterizations. Oh and Spike got to shine through, there was that too.

 
Admit it, we all know this was cute.

Wait I just realized something. What is Shining Armor doing in Canterlot? I thought he gave up his title of Captain of the Guard when he inherited the Crystal Empire. Does he just live away from his family now?

They invite him back to help secure the castle more because he’s the only relevant guard character in the show.

Which is especially wierd, since everywhere he is, the security sucks (Crystal Empire, Twilight’s Kingdom, Canterlot Wedding, The Beggining of the end). They need to hire a better guard :P

I mean, I still haven’t seen this episode, but I really didn’t like the 100th episode, so it won’t surprise me at all if I prefer this

From my general understanding, most people think it to be a good episode, some consider it among their favorites.
 
In my opinion, its a really fun episode, and everyone plays a part, which is always good.

Shoot, they had Starswirl. Thought for sure Flash would also appear.

If that was the entire security that can be implemented around Canterlot, probably one huge non-magical monster is enough to pass throught all of that.

It’s just those using it as an excuse to bad mouth other episodes and seasons, not on the episode itself bar for some minor complaints.

Honestly, if it wasnt because the interview from yesterday, and the twits mentioning this special episode was dedicated to the voice actors, if you ignore all of that, its just another normal episode.

Probably everything that happened in that episode was bucket-list in-joke kind of stuff the voice actors wanted to do, all of which would have been totally lost on us :D

Star Tracker was just a fan of Twilight. It’s quite understandable for a “number 1 fan” to act like that. His “creepyness” came not from “pride” (like in case of Zephyr) but from both his shyness and the fact that he was a fan of Twilight. Zephyr comes off as creepy because he belives he really is “cool” and that RD wants to be with him.
