I've bitched a lot myself about Fluttershy's constant assertiveness episodes and Rarity's selective generosity or outright coldness; I knew exactly what sort of complaints where being parodied because I've made them myself. And I giggled out loud like a child at them.
It's a cartoon about colourful ponies, we should be able to handle some fun-poking. If anything, they also poked fun at themselves along the way.
