Popular Family Ideas

What would you say would you say is the most popular Ideas of the families of the main six? Is it the same as yours? Do many people believe Pinkie Pie is adopted? Is is common thought that Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash do or do not have siblings? Did both of them have a single parent household? Does Scootaloo have a guardian related to her or is she all alone. What does most people believe? tell me what is your family headcanon is?

I think the consensus for Pinkie is that while she’s not related to the Cakes, they pretty much consider her their adoptive daughter, and will most likely be addressed as, “Auntie Pinkie” by Pumpkin and Pound.

I think that Scootaloo actually has parents but no big sister

The pegasi are still a mystery.
 
I believe they’ll all eventually receive normal families (although it’d be fun if they were cloned or something), it’d be nice if they did something with them.
 
I’d say that perhaps Dash is more likely to have brothers and Shy sisters, but anything can happen. McCarthy knows what’s going on with Scootaloo, maybe he IS going to be an orphan, lol.

One of the ponies has a bratty younger brother. Spike is pulled in to be a good example to him.

In my headcanon RD was raised by her single father. That’s why she’s so rough and tomboyish.
 
And yes, I’d love to see more parents. Lauren Faust said she didn’t think making a parent episode worked in the favour of the show, and I can see why, but I’d still love the little background information.

To be honest, the parents we see the most, Twilight Sparkle’s, are total non-people. Never did anything worthvile, never uttered a single line. Just stood in the background, being pretty.
 
I’d like to their characters showcased for once, if only because it’s getting creepy.

I like to think Scootaloo has no mom but a Dad and an older brother, the two of them having a pun on some mode of transportation like Scootaloo being Scooter.

Yeah, i would like to see a episode devoted to them. Get to know more about their background and character.
 
So far, only Rarity’s parents have gotten any significant sentences.

Scootaloo does have parents, but they’re from Manehattan and still act very Orange-like. She got her rebellious streak a little early.  
Queen Chrysalis has a sister who’s far worse than she is and was exiled before assuming the throne for being too damn evil.  
Twilight and Shining Armor will have a baby sister eventually.  
Ditzy Doo and Daring-Do are related. Also Daring-Do writes the books herself.

While I think that Scootaloo being an actual orphan could be well done within the confines of the show, I think that she’s being raised by earth ponies, regardless of whether or not they’re her biological parents.

I’ve toyed with the idea that Rainbow and Fluttershy are cousins. And Fluttershy had an overprotective dad.
 
I’ve seen a few depictions of Rainbow with a lot of siblings (usually older brothers >>267950 >>259890). Cute, but I don’t know how well introducing that many new characters at once would translate to the show.
