That’s really a narrow and somewhat unfair way to call some fans of G4.

Not really, G5 also has a lot of incentives to make grimdark fantasies thanks to it’s borderline post apocalyptic premise or the fact the ponies became racists fucks.
Second, calling a lot of G4 fans just for “liking edgy stuff” as wrong fans is just flat out elitistic and mean spirited. The only “wrong fan” thing I could concede are fans who flat out harass others, but the same can apply to any other fanbase so that’s still not exclusive.
And third, G4’s “edginess” was more like creating colorful characters and environment that didn’t feel extremely sappy and you could said avoided becoming a punching bag like G3.5, kinda like Mario or Shantae, the fact fans made stuff like cupcakes is inconcequential since once again, that’s pretty much what happens with internet fandoms, specially big ones.
At most, the best think I could say about that comment is that it’s too narrow minded.

About your fifth point, I wouldn’t phrase it like that, but there was certainly something in G4’s early life that contributed to the early fandom and its penchant for grimdark and grotesque stories, trying to make subversion of the whole girly girl stigma that it had during that time.

Well the thing is they’re porn/fetish artists so they’ve already made a reputation off of lewding these characters and/or they like being in the fandom way better than following the show.

But the stereotype surrounding boys isn’t that. The media sees boys as edgy and gross.

I think for these guys including other fans of the old Changelings, they loved them because they were a form of monster ponies that were officially made by the show. The core design of a basic Changeling fascinated them since they felt they were the perfect blend of edgy and cute. Other than cameos, the Changelings were used in three two-parter episodes and then transformed into the Changelings we see today. Those fans felt like they were robbed from the one thing that interested in the show, well at least in Badumsquish’s case, first Starlight Glimmer became a mainstay and then his monster ponies were taken from him. I’m surprised he never ragequitted the show. Other people see the reformed Changelings as the writers thinking that “black equals evil and we can’t have that!, and turned those designs into “some of the most bland and pointless ones in the entire show.”

Rainbow Dash never cared about what Quibble Pants’ race was but more of what side of Daring Do they were into. Unless you’re referring to Quibble’s determination to win over his girlfriend and possible stepdaughter.

That could be right. The fandom bled SO MANY fans after the second and third seasons who weren’t tolerant of their expectations of the show’s direction to go in a way they couldn’t adjust to. By the time the movie and Season 8 came around, a lot of talented fans had already left.

I think that’s pretty cool regarding yourself. But you can’t blame in hoping for some shock value in G5, right?

And how’s that a bad thing? As long as their happy making what they like and the friends they’ve made without knowing everything about the show, then that’s not an issue.

Not really a vent, but I find it really strange that this person watched a show called “My Little Pony” but hates it when people suggest they can do horse things (even just something like plain grazing). Apparently to him, they don’t resemble horses at all and are unique alien species on another planet.

As I’ve written at length elsewhere on this site, it is specifically FiM-style heads that don’t work with anthro bodies.

Well, the ponies in G1 didn’t even look like real horses either so I don’t get what they’re getting worked up for
