It’s a betrayal from Tirek’s perspective, and that’s the whole point. Tirek turns on Grogar for the greater good, then realizes that’s exactly what his brother did.
venting about a fancomic lol guess ill join in a bit while being positive as well. I will say i think it was interesting some things it addressed made me see a different perspective regarding being more supportive of the trios reformation. I liked tirek and cozy’s backstories not really a fan of chrysalis as it makes her a sympathetic sue imo. But it fell into the problems that i was expecting, such as strawmaning the characters. The story could have still went the route of trying to say what they did to the trio was wrong, without making them it out to be, as if there was absolutely no basis for what they did at all. The stoning to me was never a bad plot point, but just thinking back on it, they maybe should have made it more of a gray area instead of portraying it as completely objectively right.
For Tirek, you can just finish exploring the theme of “betrayal”. Scorpan betrays Tirek. Tirek betrays Discord. Tirek explores the merits of not betraying Cozy Glow and Chrysalis. All that was left was for Tirek to do a heel-face turn and betray Grogar.
