Well, staffs barely writes male characters well in the first place, Spike has unreasonable lovestruck when he already has a younger mare than the crush in front of him, not even the legendary Discord is immune to it (season 9 one is the infamous one).
Good well written males don’t have much screen time, aka Sunburst, Big Mac (the most screen time stallion), Shining Armor and so on.

Too bad the quality of the fandom has taken a massive nosedive in the past 2 years. Its almost as hostile as the Star Wars fandom sometimes. Maybe G5 will finally fix that.
