I never knew Ponibooru, I only joined the fandom in 2014. All I know is that it looked like Danbooru. I wonder if it had translation notes, because I could use some of those…  

Being someone who joined this site late into its life, I feel a bit out of place hearing those who use to be exiles of Ponibooru and recounting their memories whether it’d be good or bad, makes me feel young.

About a week ago, YMS put out a video discussing the Kimba the White Lion controversy.
 
In addition to being an extremely well-researched and in-depth documentary about the controversy in general, it’s also a useful guide on how to see past the superficial, and take a more critical look at the media you consume. On top of that, it shows how easy it is to manipulate people by presenting cherry-picked information without context.
 
I guess this is sort of a proxy vent about some of the dumb criticisms I’ve seen throughout the years.

I think you posted this in the wrong thread.  
Though, yeah, I kinda tire of the “Disney ripped off Kimba” drama, and some even use it as an excuse to bash the Lion King/Disney constantly, or even American animation. (Which some animé fans do. I don’t know why some act like you can’t enjoy Western & Asian stuff) It’s interesting to finally see a video counter, and debunk it.
 
It really shows how important to do research is.

I didn’t know what Kimba was until Nintendo Power magazine mentioned him getting an N64 game in Japan.

Hmm….you know, there is no rule about not being able to adopt any Pony Life moments in anyone’s custom MLP:FiM continuity.

Pony life comes out next week apparently, and we haven’t even gotten one trailer for it or anything.
 
The stop motion shorts don’t count since they are advertising the toyline, not the actual show.

Try it. You can turn it off at any time, but when you want to just hang out and not deal with whatever the current shit is, you can pull up that “I just can’t” filter and BANG you’re on a completely different site. Or, like, if someone is spamming a million alternatives of an image you don’t want to see any more, BANG it’s gone. And tomorrow you can turn that off and see everything again.
 
Try it - it really can take the edge off.

I don’t know if this is fitting for the thread but for anyone who follows Delta Brony, he has displayed a preview of his upcoming song which is going to be a remix mashup of The Magic of Friendship Grows with Endless Possibilities from Sonic Unleashed. I’ve told him more than once that I think a different video game track related to a game that is much more widely praised would be a better idea but he didn’t listen. Does anybody else agree with me?

If it’s the song he finds fitting, does iv matter if the game was good?
