How is it not? The writing doesn’t feel as dynamic as G4 even though they presented G5 as a sequel to G4. Even G4’s slice of life episodes usually had more going for them.

It certainly took the writers long enough to make it happen. And to be fair, I’m still watching G5 regardless of what I’ve said so far in hopes that things might pick up. And I do hope we get some more excitement now that everypony is aware of Opaline.

Also, we were told it was the same universe once it wasn’t part of the actual marketing. Same universal or not it’s not g4

Then what am I failing to not see about G5 compared to others around here then? Please prove me wrong.
I know its not G4, but making the story say its a follow up to G4 is gonna make me expect similar standards.

they didn’t make it a follow up there a difference between being in the same universe and actually being a sequel.
Hell, the comics bringing back Discord so early put me off then.

It’ll aways be funny how much bronies tout themselves like “we make everything better than offical media!”, and there’s just a lot of… not very good pieces of art, fanfics, and the like floating around. Not trying to discredit a lot of the excellent talent over the years, but like, not everything bronies make is gold.
Also G5 bashing for the sake of it. Really can’t stand the G4 purist mindset when it comes to other gens, both old and new. It may not be your cup of tea, but other people should be allowed to enjoy it.

some things are better then gen 5 and I’m not gen 4 purest I actually like the previous gens

I don’t watch gen 5 due to concept, style, lore ruining, and just the basic idea of it is bad

it feels like just some bad fan fic especially that this one alicorn came from nowhere

Well sadly, just like the original art Rennaissance, it didn’t last forever and this one for G4 wasn’t going to either. All “golden eras” will end eventually and while it is sad when it does, at least there are the memories of those who lived through it and can pave the way for future renaissances and golden eras like revivals or inspirations.

Well being set in the same universe does make me expect the same standards.

I agree. I know the later half of FiM had problems but I really doubt most bronies could do a better job compared to what we got. But when I do see legitimately good concepts from bronies, it does make me think that we sometimes understand certain characters and concepts a lot better than the source material does. In fact, has this ever been the case with any other piece of media? I’m curious now.
I’m not a G4 purist just to clear things up. I’m just frustrated that I’m not enjoying G5 as much as everybody else is due to my ridiculous standards.

I really hope one day we can get a future renaissance or something similar that can help fill the void that G4 left behind and get my MLP inspiration back.

I didn’t dislike a single episode of FiM. Sure there were some that were weaker than others no question, but every one of them was worth a watch at least the first time.

I think I’m too big of a fan of Jazz and Rocky from G5. It’s starting to feel a bit weird… Maybe I should focus my attention on other characters for a while

Goodness sake. All I did was make a dumb thing with Zoom and Thunder in an RP. I apologised and it’s all over. That’s why I made that comment. Because I said something stupid about them

Honestly, don’t care how long it is. Weirdly enough I’m less prone to hate something out of time persistence save very specific things, but for the most part I just hate its existence on principle.
