Naming Fluttershy's Parents, Trixie's Mom, and the Sphinx

The more you know about pony culture. Otherwise, their naming conventions are seemingly random.

I mean, it might make sense if one assumes that pony names are like Plains Indian names: sound much better in their native language, are often translated literally to English even though they sound awkward after translation, and surnames are not a thing.

You mean the polls in forum threads? Are we doing this on-site? I assumed we’d be using the same voting system as the regular pony naming polls.

No - the site where these polls are held only works three weeks each month. if we used that we’d have to wait until the 1st of August.

I have always assumed they work like a combination of Eldar from Tolkien lore and racing horse naming conventions.

I guess we could do the preliminaries with regular multiple-choice here and then do just the final round on that site.

That I guess, but I was thinking more like they gain a formal/courtesy name of Mr/Mrs Sparkle or even Mr/Mrs Armor after their children were born even though they originally don’t have these two suffixes in their original name.

Voting could be a Google Form with 3 options per row: “I don’t like it” (-1), “I’m indifferent” (±0), “I like it” (+1). Then you simply count the score.
 
• You can simply copy the options from the spreadsheet you got into the form, and each line will be a separate option.

• The user shouldn’t have to fill out all answers, as not answering and answering with indifferent is the same.

Wow, that’s a lot of suggestions. Pretty cool to see the ones I came up with are on it. I still don’t think the Sphinx needs a name, though.

I only cared for the names in Poll A so I only voted in that one. I wished I picked more options but it’s too late for that. C’est la vie.

I voted for Beatrice/Beatrix Sunnyflower for bracket A, Sunflower Showcase for bracket B, and picked Showcase Spectacle and Beatrice/Beatrix Sunflower for bracket C.

I wish Kusu and Widdles weren’t on these polls. Anyone agree?

I’m indifferent to most of them at best and dislike a lot of them at most. I’m perfectly fine with her just being “The Sphinx”.
