[bq="Mildgyth"] [bq]*Alright, first announcement:*
Since the site we usually use to do these naming polls only works three weeks each month, in order to stop wasting time and minimize the risk of cheating, we will be moving to site polls as from this round. However, the suggestions still should be posted here.[/bq][/bq]
I don't suppose you're about to add ranked voting to the site polls for it, too? That's a shame, I really liked that feature for these votes, made them feel way fairer and representative than the single choice approach...
Have you considered other voting sites? I found "https://www.opavote.com/":https://www.opavote.com/ and "https://civs.cs.cornell.edu":https://civs.cs.cornell.edu that allow ranked polls with unlimited voters for free, but apparently only prevent cheating via basic IP check or cookies.
"http://www.pollandmatch.com":http://www.pollandmatch.com is free, but doesn't allow for anonymous votes and requires a mail address, so it's probably not suited for here.
There's also "https://www.myvote.io/":https://www.myvote.io/ which claims to have some better anti-cheat measures, but demands $10 for a "contest" with up to 500 voters and unlimited questions (so basically all the different character name polls on the same page one after the other if I read that correctly). I guess that would still fit into the site budget once a month. But of course it's perfectly understandable if you don't want to pay for polls when you already have them on the site for free, albeit with less features.
