More good male characters in season 4

Do you think we will get any? I sure hope so, because there simply isn’t enough if you don’t count background ponies.

I honestly hope so myself, it would be nice to see more stallions and colts (especially the latter).

Oh, and to clarify, I mostly mean more male ponies. I forgot that part.

Well the only positive male characters we have (excluding Big Mac) have been predominantly introduced through Rarity (Hoity and Fancy Pants, both are important authorities and Magnum appearing to be a good family man)
 
And one of Rarity’s episodes can be described as “rarity thrown into a situation and using her Rarityness to get in control.” As described by Katie Cook as the plot for the Rarity micro that conflicted with S4’s plans and had to be changed.  
This lends itself to having new male characters very easily.  
Also the VA for Rarity’s dad (among other characters) was apparently doing some lines awhile ago. And he is male… So even if he is doing another character…  
Odds are good is the point I’m making.

I’d quite like to see the return of Fancy Pants. Obviously, in a Rarity episode.

Males only get important parts if its about romance or they are evil villains. dont you know anything about this show (Braeburn and Hoity were exceptions though)

Half of spikes episodes so far were about either showing him negatively or his crush with rarity. And Fancy Pants was later on on a date with rarity at the wedding

And Hoity Toity, Magnum, and Big Mac are neither villains nor in romances.
 
And Mr. Pants being in a romance with Rarity doesn’t diminish his good qualities.

Big Mac only had two bigs roles in an episode, one was where he was injured and only appeared once, the other was about romance, forced romance but romance.  
I already said braeburn and Hoity were exceptions. Magnum barely did anything.

I wouldn’t mind if they made the ones we already have more useful.

I’d like to see some new male pony characters but I’d also like to see the ones we already have get some more screen time. Well, some of them anyway.

What I was trying to say is, it’s no use introducing new male characters, just to cast them aside.
 
We have Shining Armor for example. He’s the captain of the freakin’ royal guard, yet it seems like he only exists so that Cadance has somepony to marry and Twilight can become a part of the royal family without having to marry Prince BlueDouche.

Now it’s just been confirmed!

I’ve always thought that Spike should meet some sort of wise dragon elder to reconcile the two halves of his life. That seems like it could work for an intro of a new good character.

They need more use with the males they already have such as Thunderlane and Soarin’

Maybe we’ll finally see what Starswirl actually looked like.
