Before MYM I would’ve said that was likely. But after that special it feels like she’s been regulated to more of a Squidward-esque grump than a full fledged antagonist.

How canon will the comics be to the show?

We’ll see soon. One of the executive producers for MYM has experience in Marvel animated series (basically adaptations of comic books). Obviously not the same thing as MLP series and comics, but it potentially could increase the connection between the two.

Everything that came out in the month around the MYM special somewhat tying into each other gives me hope that yeah, there’s going to be coordination between the various mediums in some form. At the very least TYT explicitly follows MYM.

But it remains to be seen how much they fit together. The comics have been pretty self-contained right now, at best exploring the backstory of the Unity Crystal that MYM kinda set up, MYM looks like it might explore a series villain, while TYT is just kinda vibing right now.

Interesting continuity. Rufus was the pony in the Hitch’s cell back in Nightmare Roommate. And the credits even namedrop him as “Rufus”. But over in One Trick Pony he’s credited as “Hoofdini”.

Now I’m wondering what he was imprisoned for.

It’s revealed that Argyle WASN’T Sunny’s biological father.

Reaction?

Argyle: “No, Sunny, I am not your father”

Sunny: “No! It cannot be! It’s not possible!”
