MLP G5 Discussion and Speculation Thread

At first, I thought Posey’s humiliation was kinda funny but now it’s just sad. Assuming this came out after Make Your Mark, I think she’s already had her punishment for causing the entire town to get swallowed into a black hole. Girl is just trying to live her life, but Izzy and the universe looks like it’s pushing her to the brink of villainy.

We’re all allowed to be a little jerkish every now and then, all this preemptive karma is starting to become excessive, way more than it should be necessary unless all of this has some sort of payoff towards her.

He was a famous Youtube reviewer of cartoons and to a lesser extent Friendship is Magic. He was probably the biggest animation critic back in 2013 to 2015. He’s a bit more obscure nowadays but he’s still doing reviews.

He’s most famous for his Animated Atrocities, where he reviews bad cartoons most famously Teen Titans Go and in this case modern Spongebob.

Often in the episodes he criticizes, Squidward is made to suffer even at no fault of his own mostly caused by flanderized Spongebob and Patricks foolishness, thus he calls these episodes Squidward Torture Porn.

These reviews while popular were also criticized for being very vitriolic and angry. Many of them were very ranty. Sometimes he even stated how the new writers deserved to be fired. He has since apologized and tried to be more calm. Although, he can still be a little melodramatic and unstable sometimes.

On the bright side, I do admire his sheer love for the art of animation. He even has Admirable Animations for the cartoons he finds well made and beautiful.

Although, if Posey stopped being a jerk, she wouldn’t be Posey. Though at least the abuse would stop.

Yeah I really wanted to try and be topical for a change.

That’s what I mean. I started the episode thinking “haha Posey gets dunked on, literally” but then…nothing. She didn’t do anything bitchy before to deserve karma, and this didn’t do anything after to justify the karma. She just was there to have a bad time for no reason.

I enjoy some schadenfreude but too much and it goes from harmless pranking to meanspirited bullying.

Like aside from Izzy trying to rip out her earring most of the shit that happens to Posey is either an accident or brought on by herself

I mean from this side of the 4th wall.

How willing I am to laugh “with” or “at” someone’s misfortune is dependent on how much this fictional character “deserve” it. Most of the time Posey has “deserved” it, but other times like in this episode she just suffered for no reason.

if TyT was PG-13, i could picture Posey being the one to drop f bombs on a regular bases given how easy it is to piss her off
