I would assume Argyle left some notes about his analysis and such. Plus, Argyle can’t be the only one who knows about the ancient ways of Equestria…now he can’t. Someone said this before, but I like the idea of a cult who collects ancient artifacts to awaken someone. I know the idea will probably just stay an idea, but there’s just so many interesting ways the writers could go with.

I don’t believe Sombra will return based on a poorly written toy description. There have been several toys over the years that were unfaithful to the show: Princess Gold Lily, Princess Sterling, pink Luna, pink Celestia, Applejack’s truck…

Now that you mentioned it, The Bewitching Bell is going to cause a lot a problems since magic has come back.
Yes, there are indications that Grogar will appear in the G5, most likely as the “End boss” that Sunny may defeat to complete her desire to return Equestria (and the world) back to friendship and harmony. We do not know for sure. But it is possible that Grogar may have been thrown into the limbo many millennia ago by Gusty the Great which made his return impossible. The case of the ponies living in fear of each other, the disappearance of the Everfree and the suspicion of memory erasure along with the loss of active magic points to an outsider and powerful invader. Which may not yet be strong enough to break out of the limbo.
But Twilight had made sure that the bell had been emptied of magic, as it was little more than an instrument that could take and store magic in infinite amounts. Only the Terrible Trio who may have destroyed the book that explained to them about this, knew how to use the bell, but as long as it was not empty. It is thus very unlikely that anyone other than Grogar himself can use the empty bell. As long as Grogar is prevented from breaking out, the bell is harmless.
Idea; what if the Sombra in the G5 is not the Sombra from the G4? The last time we saw him was when he was a smoke monster like an umbrum as he was escorted away from the transformers’ home world. From the IDW comics we know that Sombra was “reformed” into a regular pony with his love, Radiant hope. What if the writers behind the G5 are smart enough to have a Sombra JUNIOR who knows about his ancestor and wants to learn about the dark magic Sombra was known for? The ancient Sombra will never allow the loss of magic as it will go against any he desires, unlimited power. But a younger Sombra born in the G5 who recently got magic, can make use of forbidden knowledge that had come into his custody?
For Sunny, a Sombra junior will be a formidable rival who will not yet be strong enough to win. He will probably only get a fraction of his ancestor’s power, similar to the handicap like Sunny who will only be a temporary alicorn. But they will both learn over time. Anyway, I do not think Sombra junior is meant to be the “end boss” in the G5.

While one can recanonize the story. It seems unlikely as 1. Radiant Hope doesn’t exist anymore and 2. What Discord brought back was the real Sombra, so a blood successor is very unlikely.
Creative writers can easily make use of the material from the IDW comics to create a new Sombra in the G5 by making him a descendant of the infamous tyrant. This will solve a lot of problems as there are both moral and ethical dilemmas by letting Sombra from G4 return. It is not a little ethically questionable because it will then mean that a villain will sooner or later triumph over the heroes against all odds. Which is completely unacceptable for a TV series aimed at children who are going to learn right and wrong as if evil and villainy are wrong. A villain, unless he or she is timeless as an overriding force that presents the evil or the wrong in the background, must forever be the losing party.
In fact, Hasbro should have let IDW writers create a story about different Sombra`s that ended with the “good” winning in the end. In the G4 dimension, all the old villains from the G1 will be AU, not original - this is not possible with villains from G4 in the G5.
The writers for the G5 are fortunately not characterized by hubris which was a big problem with the writers of the last seasons of the G4, and the work on the movie as the last episodes of the S9 showed that they have finally realized the importance of not opposing the desires and the requests of the fans. A piece of advice to these writers who will be drafting the G5; Be inventive and respectful by thinking new and listening to the fans, yet follow logic and the lore as far as possible.
The idea of having Sombra from G4 in the G5 is hopeless.

i just seen sawtooth’s new video and it got me thinking if both pony and human universes now has as much as the other, and may have already past the point of no return, and the humans of that world may have even turn into actual anthros(humanoid ponies), is this probably why the ponies’ magic is gone. leaving only the artifacts unaffected?

But those toys didn’t have descriptions like that. Also how can you tell it is poorly written? The grammar is fine and you can understand its content. How is it poorly written?

The first sentence implies that Sunny is either from G4 or that G5 is planned to be the final MLP series, which is nonsense in a world of continual reboots.
Alicorn should not be capitalized as it’s not a proper noun.
The third sentence flows awkwardly.
I’m not saying it’s impossible that Sombra or other G4 villians will return, but I’ll believe it when I see proof from a valid source.

Nah, I don’t think so.
But the CMC appeared briefly for one second in the first episode of MLP:FiM. So, even though I don’t think these three ponies will be the new CMC, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were.

Which ones are which gender, or do we just not know?
@Ring Team
Was it even known who Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo were at the time? Were they officially named, or did the fandom name them that due to the similarity to their G3 counterparts, or were they given different names at first?

I have no idea about the names. My safest guess is that the writers, Lauren Faust and the character designers have named them Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle before airing the show back in 2010. Usually these shows have a pipeline process when they write and design characters, they have feedback, what the core idea of the show is, what their project goals are gonna be, etc.

There seems to be little to no information anywhere about these three. But judging by their voices, pretty sure the EP and the unicorn are girls. The pegasus kinda sounded like a boy, but it’s hard to say for certain.

The board on the left has a design of Canterlogic’s anti unicorn mind reading helmet. The board on the right has designs for Sprouticus Maximus with words like “Me” and drawings of Sprout holding a smoothie. What are the chances of Sprout actually being some kind of mechanical engineering savant? He designs Canterlogic’s tech and then his mom monetizes them by mass producing them in her factory. The only reason he doesn’t work at Canterlogic either through merit or nepotism is because he doesn’t want to. Instead he wants to be Maretime Bay’s sheriff.

Not good. None of the axes on the graphs are labeled. Despite wearing the anti mind-reading cap, he still thinks Izzy is reading his mind at the lighthouse. The stuff on the right looks like the doodles of a bored high school student.

@DerpyFast
Someone with savant syndrome usually does not have any education or experience in their field of specialty. An example is a person that can play a musical instrument they’ve never even seen in their entire life. Another is someone that can make mechanical drafts of something they’ve only ever seen once. This usually comes at a cost of being unable to detect social cues. Ponies discovering their talents even though they don’t know why they’re good at it is reminiscent of an idiot geniuses like someone with savant syndrome.
Additionally, that board on the right is the closest thing in the movie that proves Sprout really was the architect of Sprouticus Maximus.

Designing something that complex would require at least some formal training and experience with mechanical engineering. Plus a company such as Canterlogic would have its own mechanical engineering staff. It’s far more likely that Sprout just sketched the overall concept for Sprouticus Maximus and oversaw the actual design process.

I would believe that if there was at least one smart worker pony working in canterlogic. But there weren’t any. You see them sleeping or slacking off or even even almost accidentally hurting each other.
I’m curious why people are ressistant to this idea that Sprout might be ignoring an incredible talent he has because he doesn’t want a tallent that has nothing to do with being a sheriff. Look at how ponies discover their cutie marks. They’re good at a certain thing with no training whatsoever. They don’t choose this either. Its intuitive.
Besides, even if it requires training and experience, how do we know Sprout doesn’t see machines like toys since he was a foal. Look at how he pilots Sprouticus Maximus. He knew exactly how to operate a thing that no ones ever seen before. Compare that to the Canterlogic expo part of the movie where the chubby pony that looks like Snips was specifically shown to not know how to operate the demo machine that Sunny got into. Sprout had no problems controlling his robot, making it do exactly what he wanted.
