It looks like some people trying to suggest the idea that G4 is just a show in the G5 universe.  
Personally I think that’s worse. Instead of being Twilight and her friends did led to a time of peace it just didn’t last forever it’s none of it was real at all

On the one hoof, if it did happen then the show would be about coping with the failure of previous generations and persevering in the face of adversity.  
On the other, if it was just a show then the show would be about recognizing the complexities of society and incorporating the message of the show into everyday life. And as a bonus, it opens up the series to more world building.  
It’s also possible for both to be true. “Based on a True Story” would be the show within a show. It’s probably the first one, though.

Honestly, that happens pretty often with animated stuff, both Asian and Western ones, too. (For example, compare Madoka show animation to Madoka movie animation.)  
Usually that happens because movies get more of funds/worktime spent on them compared to shows, but it can also be artistic choice.

“Computer animated” is usually referring to CGI. While it’s possible that the series could be made in Flash, Toonboom or some other software, a 2D series wouldn’t likely be referred to as “computer animated” but simply “animated” or “animated in X”

Also, if this universe show is based on true events, you could also play with in-universe artistic license and add things in the timeframe of that show that wasn’t present in the og show due to reasons.
