idk why everyone is in a fuss about the possiblity of G5 ending. four years is a good run.
I’m not sure the site is ok with us posting links to leaked stuff

It’s difficult to feel satisfied given the constant bag-fumbling with the production and release of G5 material.I’m also not fond of the idea that that the only lesson they’ll probably learn is to never take the needle off of the G4 Mane 6 and reboots of that is all we’ll get going forward.
The first part is novelty. The fandom in 2010 was made up of people aged 18-25. Season One was probably the first time a lot of these people had watched a good kids’ show with their newly renovated adult brains, so they were able to pick up on all of the things only adults would understand. This would have felt like a completely novel concept to them, even though FiM was far from the first kids’ show to be like this. This was a “novel” enough concept on its own, but My Little Pony of all things? To all these people, Lauren Faust had seemingly done the impossible. But for the full context, you need to look up the “word of faust” tag, starting with the oldest uploads. Because Lauren Faust’s goal was to make a show that parents could enjoy with their kids, and to challenge the idea that “for girls” had to mean “stupid” or “bad”. So the fandom got the idea that they were “special” and “helping the cause” by watching the show and spreading it around. This led to two runaway feedback loops:
- the show’s popularity caused us to inflate its perceived quality, which in turn made more people want to check it out
- the more we spread the show, the more pushback we got, which in turn caused us to fight harder to spread it
Without that whole zeitgeist, Season One is above average and Season Two is a mixed bag

Yeah but I don’t think living 5 years doing nothing productive is “a good run”. Yeah I lived but what did I do to even deserve living. If only counting and totalling what we got, that’s only 1 year.
As always, not trying to take jabs at mdash, but I don’t like the “he’s not showing evidence, but I trust him because he’s “never” been wrong before” attitude. Did everyone just forget the time when he trolled us into thinking Starlight Glimmer was going to be in Secrets of Starlight?
