Thought G5 getting officially made video games was cool?

Check out a G5 fan made game! :D Even if visual novels are understandably not your thing, it’s super cool to watch fan made passion projects come to life!

UPDATE: I just noticed that this trailer and the game were released back in 2023. The game has been updated this year, however, and was just recently brought to my attention.

Only real issue holding it back is that it’s short. A single run will take like 5 minutes, and getting all 7 endings will take like 15 min. Also I don’t understand how your dialogue options lead to any of the endings.

Still good though.

Sorry, but zebras according to Hasbro, as long as it’s not the one and only Zecora or if it’s more than just Zecora, is a big no-no.

I believe some older Thai made MLP VNs were longer while stuff like Ponyville whateveritscalled and Welcome to Ponyville gets c and d’ed. Or even most other longer MLP fangames like Octavia and the Underground Cello while not C&Ded is practically cancelled and never finished. Worse part is Fnaf fan games are starting to suffer the same slow crash and burn effect. Take too short, it’s quality varies, take too long and you might as well give up. The latter being pretty deceptive when it comes to “quality” because yeah it’ll be a really good game, when it’s in the dumpster.

We had Zebra in animation before and after Zecora.

I admit we’ve only ever had one per animated series, but that should be enough to fit Skye at least ¬¬

That one hurt. I liked it.

Beats me, it’s safe to say they really felt the need to avert this time for whatever reason they deem.

Look, I’m not saying MLP is guilty of subscribing to the “Token Black” theory of representation but…

I wonder if the upcoming 2nd Tell Your Tale special will be something adapted from the comics?

Very unlikely.

It is getting irritated; the summer has not been eventful compared to the spring in TYT 2.0, we had many great episodes, especially ep. 7 and ep. 11 - but then it seems that the team behind TYT took a vacation and just randomly put out episodes that become boring over time.

We’ve only seen Violette once even though it was said she was supposed to be in the character gallery around New Mane 6 - which means we should have seen her in the background, presumably with Skye.

Sprout and Comet have largely been absent. They should have cameos or at least be in the background!

Such laziness is irritating, because in G4 the background characters were frequently shown in the many episodes without needing to have an active role.

TYT in the spring was good, now it’s getting too boring.

The G4 purists hate G5 because it’s the G5.

No matter how compelling a story, a character, a redemption arc or a pacing is. As long as it’s from Make your mark or A New Generation, it’s never good enough, and it never will, because they don’t care.

People will say “Twilight’s friendship journey rendered meaningless”, and they’ve been saying this since the release of the movie. But here’s the thing: Did they care about that though? Because there was a moment where many fans, including but not limited to SilverQuill and Josh Scorcher, demanded that Friendship is Magic should be less about Twilight and her friend and more about the world, which rendered the value of friendship in the first place. And people went on board with it.

So why are you watching riendship is Magic in the first place? If you watched the first seasons, you’d appreciate it for what it is, not pretending that this is not good enough.

You can’t go for that argument when you demanded that a show called “Friendship is Magic” shouldn’t be about friendship anymore. If not, it means you’re lying.

They reminded me of Alfie from Poor Things. He said he missed her wife, but he keeps pointing at her with a gun. Here, the G4 purists pretend they care about the value of friendship, but not only they aren’t aware of the more insidious episodes of Friendship is Magic, but they want to bash all G5 content, not because the episodes are bad written or have actions that conflict with the core idea of friendship, it’s because it’s G5. Nothing else.

I’m aware the MLP fandom is super weird and often undecided and arbitrary, but pretending you cared about the values of friendship when you’ve been pushing so far the idea that “Friendship is Magic shouldn’t be about friendship anymore because lore is more important” many years ago is insidious.

If you’re gonna hate G5, at least be consistent and be true to your words and your ideas. Do one thing or the other, don’t try to be two people at once.

Do you think we seriously watch something like and of all properties for example, Deadpool because we expect a cohesive and compelling story? Or Powerpuff Girls (the classic one) or even Ducktales for that same reason?

Anyhow, I see not even g4 purists nor some g5 fans bothered with talking about that spinoff-turned-main show. Tell Your Tale. Does that show remind you of what FiM has become? Not that they even bothered to watch it even if they have that 2d flash style or is humorous or that it even tells a cohesive story because some of us here do argue Tell Your Tale is as much what FiM should’ve been. While I don’t see it, I do wanna here what those people think if they haven’t watched it already as it’s all we’re gonna get till end of this year.

Maybe Hasbro is so hellbent on avoiding a repeat of the Three Trixies incident and/or fed up with the “Applejack is a background pony” joke that they’ve prohibited characters who aren’t specifically background characters from being background characters under any circumstances.

I also love how G5 is “never good enough”, but Wild Manes gets a pass from MLP fans who openly admit that it’s not very good. There are G5 fans who like WM, yes, but the way a lot of people in this fandom assess quality confounds me to no end.

What is the logic to this mindset and what other fandom does this?

To be fair, we’re talking about a very weird fandom who did horrible things, including the controversy of ToonKritic. Imagine applying the “everyone deserves a second chance” argument after that.

Because if a fandom doesn’t know what they want, that’s also a very dangerous thing. I’m not surprised Friendship is Magic was getting less and less popular in the later seasons.

If Friendship is Magic was The Owl House, the G4 purists would demand that it shouldn’t be about not following bad social rules, because “that’s not cool”. If it was The Artist, they would demand that it should be filmed in color, because “black and white is so old”. If it was Frozen, they would demand that it shouldn’t be about siblings trying to understand each other because “I don’t have a sister”.

And so on. They don’t know what they want.

Something to with Allrua or the wedding of Alphabittle and Haven?
