MLP G5 Discussion and Speculation Thread

Dear Princess Celestia, today I learned that G5 critic videos are still bad. ToonTime!‘s “WHY WE ALL HATE G5 OF MY LITTLE PONY??” is a pretty good watch…for understanding why we all hate G5 critic videos of My Little Pony. From straight-up false information (G5 DOESN’T DO PLOTS ABOUT FAMILY LOSS LIKE G4 PAY NO ATTENTION TO THESE SCREENSHOTS YOU CAN SEE ARE FROM FAMILY TREES), to repeating all the same tired arguments we’ve heard constantly, to making the same tired bogus comparisons, and of course, the classic modern technology rambling, taking lame potshots at Pipp. <_<

Criticism is good, but I like nuanced criticism, thank you. These kinds of videos are just the same thing over and over and it really does sadden me how it seems like things are always going to be this way.

Of course. Lots of fun for someone like me who has watched every episode of FiM and knows for a fact that most of the plots were not “complex” as these people like to purport, they were simple slice-of-life stories.

For context, in the video, the plot of Maretime Bay Day 2.0 was taken out of context to make it look like Pipp was just crying over a viral video being deleted when in actuality, she was crying over a record of her memories being erased. Sadly, that wasn’t the worst lie by omission in the video. The worst lie by omission was not even mentioning Misty once, likely since it would be a detriment to some of the arguments. DISGRACEFUL.

I checked out ToonTime!‘s channel since I never heard of them before and it really just seems like a clickbait channel with no real substance to deliver. I wouldn’t really take it for anything if I had to be honest. It’s kinda like finding an “I HATE G5!!” video from a 10 year old and taking it seriously.

Yeah, stuff like that really shouldn’t be taken seriously. I just wanted to tell others how BAD these kinds of videos can be and how they sadly aren’t getting better. I definitely want to move on from the discussion now.

I don’t know why after watching all of G5 after the last few years, it’s only now that this silly random thought has occurred to me.

When Sunny Starscout puts on her roller skates, how does she know which ones go on which hooves? Or are pony hooves so similar that it doesn’t even matter?

For us, it’s not unheard of for someone to accidentally put their shoes on backwards if they’re not paying attention for whatever reason. Now imaging trying to keep track of four shoes or boots instead of just two. If we assume that a pony’s hooves are not shaped identically, must each shoe be labeled for each specific hoof?

Even some irl shoes have logos with different orientations in different shoes; Assuming they aren’t just interchangeable, they’re probably labeled.

You’re definitely not the only one who misses them. River mines has always wanted Sprout to be in TYT and the only thing I legitimately can’t stand about TYT Season 2 (that actually has to do with the show, not the release schedule) is the absence of Comet.
