Really most episodes Just remind me that there should be another show at the same time, or make it Ten minutes with the occasional five minute mini episode

New TYT today was great. I don’t think “comeback episode” is the right term to describe it, since I didn’t find the two episodes before it to be that bad at all, but it was thoroughly enjoyable (and way better than WM’s sleepover episode) for sure. I also think it sucks that any episode like this is going to exclude Hitch by default…

…as well as our favorite Auroricorn, but I loved how they did another splendid job with Posey not being a punching bag. Well, they did mess up her mane, but that gag was funny. The way they did Misty’s mane was rad too.

The staunch refusal to let Hitch spend overnights at the Brighthouse actually kind of bugs me; They use episodes like this one, “Nightmare Roommate”, “The Traditional Unicorn Sleep-Over”, and “Misty Moves In” to further characterization and character relations, and Hitch just…doesn’t get to be a part of any of that and misses out on a lot of the formative moments of their developing friendships. Like, this is a major point in the relationship between Posey and the Mane 6, and Hitch isn’t even there for it.

If this series was more plot heavy I would believe this could’ve served as the plot of an episode if not special. Hitch loves his friends, but because they are all girls there are times where he simply can’t attend bonding sessions. So we get a touching climax where they all affirm that they are all a family.

Through out it all Sprout continues to not exist, because otherwise Hitch could have his own Boy’s Only get-togethers.

The Brighthouse is too OP, it better be nerfed in the next patch. I wonder how Posey not even knew what a sleepover even was, she’s an adult and surely she must’ve heard of them when she was younger even if she wasn’t invited into one. It isn’t like Twilight’s excuse where she was isolated and friendless for so long that she couldn’t be able to do one.

Episode was alright, it was nice seeing Posey warm up to the idea of the sleepover and have fun, and seeing the Brighthouse do all that to make the sleepover more fun was interesting. That one split second of Izzy getting hit in the pillow during the split screens was really funny, I laughed at that. Song was okay

A controversial opinion of mine that I’ve probably said here before, but I’ll say it again: Instead of MYM coming back, there could be two other series to replace both it and TYT. One could have MYM’s format and TYT’s animation style, while the other could have TYT’s format and MYM’s animation style. 3D animation would probably cost Hasbro less if it were done in 5 or 6-minute-long episodes.

The Crystal Brighthouse is an expansion of the Unity Crystals, who had created and designed the building and all the secrets within it. Already in the movie it was noticed that these crystals reacted to stimulus when Sunny united the three leaders and that these have a mysterious intelligence we still know very little about. Repeatedly it was seen that the Unity Crystals have a personality that seems helpful and willing to serve, but also quite enigmatic and manipulative, furthermore this intelligence reacted to acts of friendship. It reminds a bit of Twilight Sparkle from G4.

Perhaps a clone of Twilight’s personality had been created and inserted into the Unity Crystals, which were in Twilight’s possession for many centuries. Or maybe it’s Twilight herself, but in a remote-controlled mode from wherever she is. We still don’t know why the Unity Crystals reacted with the equally mysterious Wishing Star that the ponies celebrated every time it “stopped” once a year. Anyone who saw Opaline’s face in TYT when she observed this could never forget her shock and rage. Maybe she saw something that everyone else couldn’t?

Zipp should have been a little more skeptical of the Unity Crystals, but she had adopted Sunny’s laziness and chosen to leave the sleeping dog alone - so far. Regardless, it’s obvious that the biggest mystery in G5, when you ignore what happened to the G4 world, is the Unity Crystals, Twilight Sparkle’s masterpiece - and failure.

Maybe the 2nd special will be the climax of the Allrua story?

Not so much from SYS #3.

But the story is about fake magic versus real magic, Calla Lily created a fake Shadow Pearl and it causes her kingdom to wash away like sand before the waves, while the new queen Maris the Crow found the real Shadow Pearl - which she could create and heal with unlike the other queen. Also, it is clear that the royal who controls a sea anchor is also its guardian with the ability to manipulate the magic in his/her realm. This explains Calla Lily’s motive and plan. But she had stolen inactive sea anchors and had to use fake and transitory magic that does a lot of damage.

Still seeing evidence that the population of the Sparking Sea is quite diversified, what is very startling is that there are G1 sea ponies there as well. These sea ponies without front legs and with the same tail as a sea horse from our world. Zipp calls these two G1 sea ponies “gillies”, these behaved like little foals. And while some sea ponies have only two front legs, it has been noticed that several have four legs in addition to the tail. G4 sea ponies have a whole half of their body like the back of a fish body. I don’t think this design from SYS with four legs and a tail will survive in future publications.
