Hi everypony!

I noticed some connections in the show (headcanon, if you will) that blew my mind. I made some videos about them, and have gotten similar responses from the people who saw them. I’d like to see what a larger audience thinks of them, but I’m having a hard time spreading it around. Here’s the first one:

I’ve got 3 others at the moment, with more on the way. So watch those for even more mind blowing goodness.

(I would greatly appreciate it if you see it and like it if you could help me spread it by linking it to someone else. I also currently have #4 under review by My Little Brony, and probably won’t get through unless it gets some upvotes. Here’s that link, and you don’t need an account to vote.

Well… it’s a bit tough because I use the videos to organize clips from the show in a way that it’s easy to see how it fits together. I could try to give a brief summary of them, but I can tell you now that it doesn’t do it justice.

Part 1:
The legend behind the Hearts and Hooves day celebration states that after the prince and princess weren’t able to perform their duties there was “something about a dragon, the kingdom falling, chaos reigning…”. All three of those things mentioned point to Discord, and the start of his reign.

Part 2:
A timeline of Equestria pulled from an analysis of the show. It basically shows that Discord and Sombra reigned and were banished, and Nightmare Moon was banished all in a relatively short period of time around 1000 years earlier. It is also reasoned that Starswirl was alive around this time, and Celestia and Luna were most likely still young.

Part 3:
Queen Chrysalis is analyzed using elements of the show. Basically, she and Sombra were the prince and princess from the Hearts and Hooves legend, but because they couldn’t find the cure the love poison darkened their hearts. Parallels are made between the crystal ponies and the changelings, showing that a changeling is a crystal pony who has been damaged by a love poison, and this same fate befell Chrysalis.

Part 4:
Since 1000 years previous Discord, Sombra, Chrysalis, and Luna all went nuts it’s reasoned that a central event must have caused it. Elements of the show are used to show how Starswirl must have cast his unfinished spell and swapped the destinies of the bearers of the elements of harmony. It’s also reasoned that the bearers at this time were Starswirl, Celestia, Luna, Discord, Sombra, and Chrysalis, though they were not necessarily aware of it, or even friends at the time.

As you can see, it’s tough trying to get all of this without the video. There’s so much that doesn’t make sense how it all works unless you can see the clips right there. That, and I just tried to cram an 8 minute video into one paragraph… All I can say is, before you go and try to argue against it, watch the videos first for all of the supporting details.

Part 5:
Not up yet, but should be within a week :).

That actually is a good idea. In the season 3 finale the mane 6 went nuts so casting the spell on others would in theory make them go nuts too.

We’re all pretty familiar with the show here, so I really don’t think you need to worry about specific video clips all that much. :) I’ll admit I’ve definitely not heard that one before. Nobody ever talks about the H&H legend much, and I don’t think I’ve seen the Star Swirl’s spell connection either. Pretty cool! How about the dragon, though?

Dragon? I assume you mean the one mentioned in the Hearts and Hooves legend? I think that’s just another component of the reference to Discord, and there are plenty of possible reasons for why it could be. Discord in stone form was described as a statue of a “Draconequus”, which is Latin and literally translates to mean “dragon horse”. The MLP staff even said that they intended Discord to be a type of Chinese dragon. Sweetie Belle was the one reading the history at the time, and she probably had no idea what a “draconequus” was, so when she said “…there’s something here about a dragon…”, she was just summarizing it and it could have easily been a child’s misinterpretation. It could also have been a detail that was misconstrued over time.

EDIT: Also, if you look at it from the writer’s perspective (since, really, that’s probably the perspective that matters most) then they might have been trying to be sneaky about it. I know that if I were a writer for the show I would want to hide it in there. If they flat out have Sweetie Belle say “… there’s something here about a DRACONEQUUS…” that completely gives it away, and where’s the fun in that?

There are still 6 elements, correct? I’m thinking that Celestia and Luna were able to wield it by themselves with weaker power. Notice that with the “Mane 6” in control they have not just beaten enemies, but reformed them, which in my mind is a far greater task. Celestia and Luna just beat and banished, no reforming. Why wasn’t Celestia alone able to help Nightmare Moon instead of banishing her to the moon? Why couldn’t Celestia and Luna get Discord to use his magic for good instead of turning him to stone? To me, this says that the elements were not operating at their full capacity. As I mentioned in my videos, even though there were beings whose hearts may have been connected to a specific element, they were not necessarily friends with each other. Twilight did not start out being friends with the other 5. She still had to gain that friendship. By the time Twilight cast Starswirl’s unfinished spell she had already been deemed “ready” by Celestia. She had time to become good friends with the other element holders. When Starswirl cast his spell it looks like Celestia and Luna were the only ones who were “ready”, which would make sense. They are sisters, so they were probably already friends. The rest of them might not have even had the chance yet. If Starswirl waited several more years perhaps things would have been different.

But, that’s all according to my headcanon. We’ll see what happens in season 4 :)
