Always kinda liked the idea of MLP’s interacting with full sized equines. Makes you wonder why larger equines don’t seem to exist in the pony world… or any other equine type for that matter.
I think Izzy’s brain works a lot like mine. She can’t directly read the room, but she’s developed a mechanism where she can very quickly make an educated guess and act accordingly. She’s also learned to reflexively course-correct if she guesses wrong, or if she gets a negative reaction.
This honestly adds an extra layer of detail to every scene she’s in.

I read Izzy as a galaxy-brained shit poster more so than neurodiverse. She always has some audience in mind. Thankfully, it doesn’t include the camera mare. That’s was one of the weaker points of Pinkie’s characterization: it often felt that we were her primary audience rather than the other ponies next to her. Yes, Izzy wears an emotional mask. The mask is Izzy. There is no underneath.
