The movie not having sequels I think is a bit of missed potential. Had it received a sequel, I think focusing some more on Tempest would’ve naturally have been a good move. As well as some of the other characters introduced in the 2017 movie like Capper and Skystar. One thing I’d be keen on seeing is the alicorn princesses potentially receiving a scene where they make a worthy contribution to one kind of plot point that would require their immense magical ability. I wonder what kind of conflict would befall the characters in this proposed story. Perhaps they could actually follow through with introducing alicorns related to the princesses Luna and Celestia, an idea which was ultimately scrapped in favor of Tempest herself. An alicorn antagonist would certainly make my aforementioned involvement of the princesses an obvious direction to take the story. Ultimately I wouldn’t want the movies for the sake of changing much of season 8 or 9, but rather for said movies to be their own fun adventures to entertain newcomers to the series.
