Hope: Hey bugbutt, you still hate Twilight and friends?
Chrysalis: Completely.
Hope: Well have I got an offer for you.
Tirek would be just as easy to convince. The only hard part is breaking him out of Tartarus and not have him hijack the entire plot the exact moment he’s strong enough to do so. Both points being why I’m skeptical he’ll play a role.
@441TheSecond
To be fair, this seems less and less like a club for supervillians and more a support group for people who had their lives ruined by the main characters.
Where pray tell did it ever imply he was a villain? If anything, he’s being recruited because his life was (indirectly) screwed up by the Mane Six [not intentionally, but the Mane Six getting him to mellow out obviously hurt his image].
You’re just setting yourself up for disappointment with that talk.
At this point, I’m just waiting for the MCU jokes to roll in (mysterious stranger shows up to one by one recruit certain folk to the team their forming…)
@Itsthinking
I just want for this arc to be good! That’s all I’m asking! Yet I am so certain that it won’t, because IDW hasn’t published a good comic since April.
I can buy Iron Will joining the villain’s side out of desperation. Desperate people seldom make good decisions. It’s the part about him operating by fear and all minotaurs once being feared that I don’t buy. I get the feeling they’re trying to awkwardly insert lore about minotaurs so Iron Will has a motivation to restore the honor of his race or something.
The cartoon showed that Iron Will was a man of honor, and the comic showed he had a very clear concept of what’s correct and what’s wrong.
Having him join a team of villains so he could be feared and boost his self improvement seminars is just dumb no matter how hard one tries to justify it.
@Anonycat
Like keptomage said, “Desperate people seldom make good decisions.” I doubt he seriously knows what he’s signing up for…and if so, it’s likely he’ll make a Heel-Face turn by issue four.
…what IS he signing up for anyways? Why is Radiant Hope trying to destroy the Mane Six? Sombra was defeated and the Crystal Empire was restored…isn’t that something she’d be happy for?
@MrXemnas1992
Could be revenge for blowing him up. Maybe she spent years trying to look for a cure for him, found it, only to see him explode right in front of her eyes.
I can understand if Iron Will agree since he have a wife and kids to feed and he would be desperate for customers. I just hope that he won’t be turned into generic evil henchman and break any law.
Flim and Flam are just greedy for money, even Applejack would be able to hire them if she offer enough bits. Evil have nothing to do with it.
Lightning Dust may be driven by her personal vendetta against Wonderbolts and Rainbow Dash, it doesn’t mean that she like to strangle kitties in her free time.
None of them is really a villain and it will be really OOC if they all agree to work with creatures like Tirek, Chrysalis and Sombra and doing it by their own free will.
