How long?

My question to you guys is how long do you thank they’ll keep making mlp fim(I’m hoping it goes on forever like the simspsons family guy American dad ect)but what are you guys thoughts?

At least one more season, if not then they’ll make a movie to end everything.

I’m scared to think that this could potentially go on for 6-8 seasons. Old fans dying out, old fans vs new fans issues, more alicorn stuff, ep ideas getting more and more tired…
 
5 seasons and a movie would look just about right.

May sound cliche at this point, but six seasons and a widely-released movie seems likely. They might end with a widely-released movie.

Six seasons and a movie would be good enough for me(if the writing holds up). We all know that this shouldn’t be on the direction that Spongebob has headed for years now.

Or in the worst case scenario, It becomes Spongebob 2.0 and gets a good episode only when a man successfully hits a speeding bullet with a smaller bullet, whilst wearing a blindfold, while riding a horse when all the planets are aligned.

Tbh I kinda hate to see the show end because nmo if the show ends then our fandom well spin out of controll and then break up? And I’d hate to see that :(

I’d rather see the show die young and beautiful then suffer the ravages of age and declining writing.
 
More then likely, Hub will try and keep the show aired for as long as possible, seeing as it’s the money pooping bear of their lineup, so it will, unfortunately, get hit with gradual decay unless Hasbro itself pulls the plug.

Well I mean look at stuff like Pokemon(how that show is still alive is beyond me)spongebob and look at family it’s going strong and kicking ass and is good(thou they sadly killed off Brian)and American dad(nmo that show would suck without Roger)so why kill the goose that layed the golden egg?

With something called “Beam Box,” if they decided to just use Equestria as a backdrop and drop the “My Little Pony” name all together in an attempt to sell the franchise as gender neutral, it wouldn’t shock me.

You can’t really compare Pokemon to anything. Pokemon is on the Hourai Elixir.

Personally I would like six seasons and then a spin off set after the main show in the same universe with characters we know, but focusing on different characters.
 
Like you would see twilight and the gang still, just but the episodes not centering on them.

This. This has been an idea I’ve had myself. They could also sneak in a little bit of reference to the Mane 6 and all. Different setting in the same universe. Whether it be in the same time, in the past, or in the future. With different characters of course.
 
Like they did with Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis.

Because it’s so huge and has made everything based on being for girls. Plus, you’d probably find a wider audience with the younger male audience if it focused on “cool” fantasy creatures like griffins and dragons. Call it “Adventures in Equestria” or something.

Times change, and tastes change. And those younger male audiences can see us as examples of males who like “girly” things.

I like y’all’s ideas so far but the ponys I’d like to see get a spin off are vinyl scratch and Octavia or Trixie :)

The thing is that FiM actually made the franchise a lot more gender neutral. But I still think you’ve got the name that’s in the way, the one audience not captured by FiM in some way is playing with Transformers instead.
 
I’m not talking about younger males who want to play with ponies secretly. They’ll eventually get their ponies, especially with how times are changing. I’m talking about the audience that is perfectly fine with Transformers but would never touch anything pony-related with a ten-foot pole, even with as gender neutral as FiM is. They just have no desire to even try it since they’re happy with their robot toys.
 
Basically, how do you get someone who is perfectly fine with Optimus Prime to buy a fantasy-themed toy based in a land of magic? Well, names and implications hurt the chances.

If anyone should get the spin off it should be the CMC. I mean if you think about it…it’s kinda set up that way.
