FlutterHulk

I really want to hear Fluttershy say the “You’re making me angry” line sometime in the show. I also want the show to revisit how mad Fluttershy can really get if she’s pushed to her limits. Maybe she’ll transform into the Incredible FlutterHulk. Who knows?

Yeah, we’ve already seen more than one incarnation of Flutterbitch. Flutterhulk would be completely redundant.

FiM in general is starting to collide with this issue, really. Every slice-of-life plot hook worthy of screentime has been used at least once, along with several that should’ve been left in the bad ideas bin.

Season 4 desperately needs an actual story arc, or there’s going to be a lot of “Oh, it’s this episode again.”

One could easily make stuff up for each character if one is willing to take some risks.
Many bronies will hate seeing their waifus actually show variety and depth but oh well

No offense, but if that happened, I may have to walk away from the show for a while if it’s executed particularly badly. We don’t need to see this “side” of Fluttershy anymore, unless maybe it’s done creatively and true to her character. What we’ve seen of that “side” of Fluttershy after she was discorded has not been original, true to her character, or risk-taking, since it is based on recycled archetypes and plots; it does not give her depth–and in fact takes it away.

Should she go full Flutterhulk and cause mass havok, destruction, and (kid-safe) violence, she might never have to answer for it or learn from it, given the track record of glorifying her regardless of how poorly she acts toward her “friends.” I stand by my assertion that PYHD damaged her characterization afterwards, and I will not take a variant of that theme kindly. Was it necessary she become more aggressive like every other quiet/nice/shy character ever? I would like to think she could have developed her assertiveness much better while staying true to what she was. People seem to take gentleness as a sign of weakness, a viewpoint I cannot share with the culture of harassment.

Milking the Flutterrage thing would not add anything to the show but could take away a lot. Frankly, it would be a jumping-the-shark candidate for me.

…so, if flutterhulk is such a bad idea, what if they had an episode that swung to the other logical extreme?

…well, actually, I suppose it technically isn’t that, but the scenario I wanna suggest certainly wouldn’t work with flutterhulk. I guess what I’m trying to say is, while the show has already portrayed characters acting rude or hostile towards fluttershy, it’s no secret that more than a few bronies would like nothing more than put a smile on her face; so, what if they made an episode where a character caves whenever fluttershy so much as makes puppy eyes, and fluttershy ultimately winds up taking advantage of him/her? I don’t think I even need to explain what that episode’s lesson would be…
