As far as pegasi are concerned, if it’s a pony and flies and/or has wings, it’s a pegasus.

Rarity with butterfly wings? Pegasus. Starlight flying around with self-levitation? Pegasus (with a horn). Any alicorn? Pegasus (with a horn).

Rarity after she lost her fake wings? Unicorn. Starlight when she steps back on the ground or even on a cloud? Unicorn. She flies again? Pegasus once more. She lands again? Unicorn once more.

Pegasi are simple creatures who don’t worry too much.

Headcanon accepted with extreme prejudice.

My headcanon is that crimes that are about more of a national or large scale disaster like Tirek, Discord or Cozy Glow don’t constitute capital punishment.

But personal crimes like murdering your neighbor and especially your friend or family is a capital offense that uses the guillotine after being humiliated.

G3: Kimono was only pretending to be surprised, having seen through the whole “welcome sign” boron sulfide.

Rainbow Dash was born ten months after Bow Hothoof saw the moonlight reflected off the barrel of Windy Whistles’ mother’s shotgun. (Ponies’ gestation period is eleven months, as in real life)

G5: Izzy Moonbow is short-sighted.
At her cottage, she has a pair of glasses which she only wears at the start of Fit Right In.
When she is not wearing her glasses, which is every other time, she leans in very close to ponies.

Spike makes most of the buyings, specially the ones involving commodities and luxuries, whereas Twilight only buys for necessity or at most for specific hobbies.

Twilight is trying to teach Spike about financial responsibility. The Sparkle family might be a wealthy family but Twilight doesn’t want it to go over Spike’s head.

Scootaloo, Trixie, Starlight Glimmer and Diamond Tiara are jump rope aficionados.

Remember Marine Sandwich? Of course some of you don’t. She’s Cheese Sandwich’s relative. Cousin or even a sister.

There is an unspoken stigma against “cross-breeding” with other ponies. Likely antiquated and more of a silent expectation these days.
If we look at most families depicted in the show, they are “pure”. The Apple and Pie families are all earth ponies, Rarity and Twilight’s families are all unicorns, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash’s families are all pegasi.
Scootaloo’s parents are a rare exception, as are the Cake twins, though in their case the parents are still both earth ponies and them having unicorn and pegasus children was unexpected.
