Her accent now is known as “Mid-Atlantic” and was intentionally created to sound more “posh” and “upper-class”.

It’s true, though also true that it’s an accent that in the US hasn’t been taught or used much since around 1950.
 
My guess is that the character designers wanted Rarity to sound that way because Rarity was herself based on Audrey Hepburn’s character, Holly Golightly, from an early 1960s film called “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”
 

 
The character was herself rather eccentric, speaking in what was even in 1961 a no longer particularly fashionable affected accent. And yes, the character also had a rather independent cat. But no dress shop, and no little sister, or at least not that appeared onscreen.

I’ve heard of that movie. I’m curious with what it’s about.

G3: The name “Kenbroath” comes from Old Ponish “Ceonbrāþ”, a variant of “Ċeombrāþ” (earlier “Cēonbrāþ”, “Ċēombrāþ”). Both of these names derive from Proto-Ehwazic “Keumbraiþaz”, which was borrowed from the Middle Draconic name “Geumproit”. The name “Kenbroath” is a doublet of the name “Chembroath”.
 
How did Spike call himself “Kenbroath Gilspotten Heathspike” rather than “Ceonbrāþ Gilspotan Hæþspīc”? He didn’t. It was part of a translation spell.

But more crazy headcanons.
 
The real reason for Nightmare Moon’s banishment was that Luna likes pranks. She put a note on her sister’s pillow that said “you really smell like dog buns” and Celestia started yelling “Unacceptable! One thousand years, moon!” Things kind of deteriorated from there.

Queen Chrysalis has opened a pizzeria in Canterlot. Orders are delivered by drones–the bug looking kind, not the mechanical kind. The pizza is fairly good. But Princess Cadence keeps calling them up to order a “boneless pizza” and it’s really starting to annoy Chrysalis.

Who would be Finn?

Rarity was adopted. Before her adoption, she was an orphan that was a beggar and thief from the slums of Manehattan. But Cookie Crumbles took Rarity in. And this is why she sometimes has a snobbish attitude because she wanted to prove that she was not just a lowly thief but could rise to even marry a prince even if all her classmates tease her for that dream.

Simultaneously. They’d go on double dates all over Almaren. They actually met while they were doing construction work for Eru. Celestia and Gandalf designed and built Ormal, the High Golden Lamp, and Ringil, the pillar that held it in the sky. Saruman–he called himself Melkor then–and Luna and Melkor designed and built Iluin, the Blue Sky Lamp, and the pillar Helcar that held it aloft.

Being a unicorn that can actually use spells beyond levitation is like picking a class in D&D, and not everyone gets a class.
