AU and OC topic.

Because the shipping topic is now just for shipping. This is the new topic for all of your alternate universe needs. And I figured it might as well be an OC topic as well. So discuss both of these things your own or otherwise. And of course, this includes fan kids.

Understandable, I just didn’t know how to start this. I thought going straight to Fluffie Puff would be bad.

I do find her quite adorable, both in design and personality.

I’m glad that Oc hatred has died down honestly.

It seems the opposite is the case now. SFM-Ponies OC folder is AFAIK the first folder in a MLP group to be maxed out…

As far as I know, I’m the only one who thinks of an Alternate Universe like this.
 
One where it’s pretty common for ponies to shape shift into a human. And back again without a problem.

Ugly, edgy, alicorn, try-hard (though I guess that falls under edgy), and OCs that exist soley to be shipped with canon characters are ones I hate most…I’m going to assume those are the same reasons anyone else would hate them.
 
But I do fave OCs I think look nice.

Was mostly when the fandom was new and bustling. While most of it was directed towards alicorns,characters paired with canon or designs considered edgy. Just seemed like an Oc having some sort of spotlight ,special ability,story,good art would get people screeching :S

Maybe I should dust off my Fire Emblem AU fic, or maybe I should go back to staring into my sleep mask.

 
I like AUs like this.

I’m still trying to get round to a fanfic AU that would be a collection of stories.
 
The major factor diverging it from canon would be how the mane 6 dealt with Tirek.
 
The event would change magic in a way so every character has options unique to them like in RWBY. I’d also like the world to coexist with Them’s Fightin Herds somewhat and have a ‘dream’ world that could let me have characters like the power ponies or the Dazzlings existing. Or other crossover shenanigans but it’s still not completely set in stone ^^;
 
Need to work on how I’d avoid alienating readers that don’t a lick about other series and such.

Man I might love Dragon NaturallySpeaking but it won’t give me loopy to save its life until today…
 
So now I can talk about my OC for Derpy’s father his name is Loopy Lewis he is a jazz musician.

lol the featured image is a naruto reference. How often have I seen pony crossed over with Naruto…or like mlp with Naruto elements thrown in…not a lot actually.

My ponysona is a chubby green earth pony named Emerald Mask.

Am I trash for making an OC area of sorts hidden in the shadow of Canterlot’s mountain?
 
To elaborate on it a little, it’s basically a village founded in honor of Princess Luna when they received news of her being banished to the moon, where the ponies only ever slept throughout the day and were active at night, even developing mostly black coats and vibrant or otherwise bright colors for their eyes and manes (and yes, that extends to my namesake OC, whom of which basically made me want to design an area around it).
 
The basic idea of culture is almost the same as you would find anywhere else in the country, and most ponies born and raised there take up careers that typically have to do with science, astronomy, astrology, astrophysics, and even a little bit of music, baking, etc.
 
Frankly, I’m just curious if people think that this concept is garbage or not, basically being a nocturnal version of Canterlot and all.

I can see it working if you take the time to flesh out their culture.

For the most part, the culture isn’t much different from where you’d look anywhere else in the nation. There’s a higher IQ rate for most born there, and a much more religious approach to Princess Luna, but there isn’t much else to it.

Do they live in almost constant shadow? You would think that would have some effect on their mood.

The positioning of the valley basically does put them in constant darkness, seeing as how the mountain eclipses the sun from every angle. Some would be affected, but that would really only apply to the younger ponies. Older ones are mostly unaffected, due to having gotten used to it.
