I couldn’t find any general theory threads to post this, so I decided to make it its own separate thread.
I’ve had a theory floating around my head ever since the Episode Bats! came and went. And as the show went on, my theory became more and more solid right up to the final episode. Today, I’m gonna share this theory with you guys which is as follows:
Fluttershy was never fully cured of her bat pony self.
There’s quite a bit of evidence in the show that adds some truth to my theory, so lemme share a few examples:
-At the end of the episode Bats!, the camera zooms in on Fluttershy’s mouth and reveals she still has fangs.
-In Filli Vanilli, Fluttershy is seen hanging from the stage ceiling upside down-most likely by her tail-something that normal ponies cannot do, but bat ponies have no trouble with.
-During the Tantabus fight in Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep? Fluttershy transforms into Flutterbat, despite the fact that at the end of Bats! she said she had no memories of turning into a bat pony. So how could she turn into one in a dream, something that requires memories in order to be manifested?
-In Scare Master, Fluttershy dresses herself up in a Flutterbat costume to scare the Mane 5. This is something that, again, she couldn’t do if she didn’t have any memories of being a bat pony.
-After Bats! each of the Mane 6 has appeared at least once at Sweet Apple Acres…except for Fluttershy. She never appears there in any episode after Bats!; not even so much as a mention by one of the other characters. It’s almost as if she’s avoiding that place on purpose.
-Finally, have you ever noticed that Fluttershy hasn’t eaten any fruit after Bats!(especially apples)? Seriously, name me one episode that aired after Bats! where she ate fruit and was still a normal pony afterwards.

If this is the case, let’s just hope that Fluttershy never winds up in the human world, otherwise there’s gonna be a helluva lot more food shortages than ever before.
