As byte[] previously stated, it's just a design oversight and really should be a local setting that doesn't require an account. Thank you for pointing it out! We'll add it to local settings if you're not logged in.
Also, our ad revenue doesn't depend on registered user accounts (or, for that matter, it doesn't depend on clicks or impressions either), and we don'tuse or share your account data with anyone, and only use it purely for purposes of allowing you further site customizationg, and the ability to receive an account ban rather than just an IP ban. If you'd like your account to be wiped as per our GDPR compliance policy later when the feature is implemented, feel free to report your own account and explain your wishes in the reason.
