Vote and Score bar missing from main page

but only when I log in.
 
when im not logged in they show up again.
 
I figure its gotta be something in settings but i cant find it.
 
also, i think somehting blocking comments too.

Currently this is related with the use of small thumbnails, and is being worked on.

oh so it is a bug then. thats a reflief.  
im guessing the comment thing is too ten. (5 comments listed, only 4 shown, or the reverse where it appears folks cant see my comments.

Sounds like you’re blocking Javascript on the site.
 
Do you use something like Noscript?
 
Comments are loaded by Javascript and we just transitioned towards the information bar being shown on small images only on mouseover, which also requires javascript.
 
Javascript has been a site-wide requirement for a long while now and that’s not changing.

I’ve just added and deployed a small marker at the top of the page to warn users who have Javascript disabled that the site may not work properly for them. Because, well, it won’t.
 
More and more stuff is going client-side and while we can provide no-JS alternatives, they won’t get as much love as the JS version which 98% of people will use.

i dunno what im using atm, Im using a loaner while I order a new laptop to replace my old one that went belly up. any way to test?

Try going to Help -> About. If you’re on a loaner, it sounds like you’re probably using Internet Explorer.

Also, to be fair, that mouseover functionality should be possible with CSS :hover pseudo-selectors. I can take a look later.

I always use IE, other ones cause problems. Why does eveyone hating on IE?

Because it doesn’t adhere to internet standards and thus causes web developers endless nightmares as we hack in code specifically to make IE work that then breaks compliant browsers etc etc FOREVER.

IE10 is getting better but still far behind Chrome/Firefox.

huh dunno what version of IE is on this thing. I’d say 7 or 8. Os is a form of Win 7…
 
 
I tried firefox and chrome, both cuased … problems.
 
my new laptop will probobly come with the most current IE though. If i ever figure out what kind to get…

I have changed part of that code, so it might work correctly for you now.
 
Furthermore, it should now work as intended on iPods and stuff.
